They just harden up in the cold and you have to account for reduced traction, braking, etc. As long as you drive conservatively you are fine (as you said as long as no snow or ice on the ground). But if there's even a hint of snow they are pretty useless.With my M4 & Supra, as long as there was no snow on the ground (nor in the forecast), my Michelin PSS were fine for me. Used for multiple years from 10 degrees to 100 degrees. Never had an issue.
