For those that have done the adjustments on the mss - is there a visual on the adjuster that indicates what oem height is? I know a turn is about 3 mm but I want a starting point with oem height - wasn’t sure what the best process was or what do you actually measure to determine the height (if not the wheel well)?

Watched some vids but they only cover install which looks straightforward. I want to have it close and once I run them a bit I’ll take it to get a proper alignment.

TIA

no visual on the adjuster.
you'll just have to make multiple adjustments until you're satisfied.
oem height is 14.5"

Place it at highest setting (OEM) and work your way down from there. Is very hard to raise the car.
Buy the optional dust boot covers. The little dust and debris that accumulate on the thread make the adjustment really tough.
Check on my signature (page 2) for a review on the MSS springs.

so I couldn’t find specific adjustment info but I noticed that there’s about 25-30 mm of thread adjustment on the rear but maybe 10mm on the front.

I saw that one turn is about 3mm but is that just for the rear? And anyone now the approx height/turn on the front? Just trying to minimize effort/surprises before getting into it.

thanks again

So I got these installed and made sure everything is seated and oriented properly. Started at 30 mm of thread showing front and rear on the adjusters (that’s what mss said would be stock height) and front looks right and measured about an 1/8” lower than stock but the rear is about an inch higher. Lowered rear spacer another 15mm and it’s still the same height. I haven’t driven it much and I know there is a breakin period to settle but how much will it settle - like a whole inch or more? Wondering if something else is going on?

Springs settle. Google it if you’re unsure. Plenty of BMW posts about these.

i run MSS springs on the lowest setting. I don’t have any experience with other brands. Ride quality wise- feels stiffer in both modes but still comfy in normal (this is my everyday setting) No rubbing even with 20mm and 17.5mm spacers.

old thread, but I recently got my mss springs installed by a local shop. the springs feel soggier than stock, and I find that they compress so easily when I’m in normal mode… it scrapes when I go over certain parts on the highway and theres a bump in the road for example.

not sure if this is normal.

Interesting sounds like the opposite of what I’m experiencing. Did they put the bump stops provided by Mss, the helper springs, maybe missing parts?

This doesn’t sound normal; after getting mine installed they were stiffer in both normal and sport, when compared to stock.

I had MSS for 1.5 years and they were stiffer (normal would feel like sport and sport would be like 20% stiffer)

the rubbing on compression is probably not that the springs are soggier, it’s because you are lower, a compression results in rubbing - something that happened to me on 19’ wheels + spacers.

check people’s install pics, just in case yours was done differently. My solution was to either ride without spacers or go to 18” wheels, or raise them a bit.

Looking at your picture of the rear spring install. I think I will need to adjust mine, it's not straight like your picture.

Does the whole rear springs assembly need to be removed for this adjustment? Or is there a easier way to rotate it to the correct position?

yes. You have to undo the the whole thing. And it has to be straight. Maybe that’s the problem. Post a pic
