yeah that sucks - I feel the same way and I only bought one set, this is the thing is when it comes to modding, you could have went the expensive route and still had a shitty experience with lower control arms being defective.

did you by any change remove the camber adjustment screws at some point, I just noticed the sliding piece is not symmetrical, and may cause issues if not orientated correctly?
I changed the screw locations, but i don't think i ever fully separated them. I have the notched side pointed out, which should be correct. If the sliding piece was reversed it would give you positive camber instead of negative.

Yup, that sounds right. I have no clue what the issue is, my solution was just going back to stock, if you find it let me know! 😅

Not saying do this, as what I did was sketch.

I had the whole strut out of the car, held the shaft with some hose and a clamp. I ugga dugga'd that top nut as much as I dared to, and then sent it a few more uggas. That seemed to clear up the clunk for me.

YMMV.
Whelp, I tried adjusting the steering gear and it didn't seem to make a difference.

I also got brave with my impact and gave a version of your method a try. I didnt pull the strut out, but I got some rubber mounts meant to a hold shaft like thing and clamped it. It still spun. No better on the clunk unfortunately :( I'm considering giving the millway's a try.

I also tried the chassis ear thing. I hooked it up to the driver strut nut, passenger strut nut, steering adjuster, driver spring and driver knuckle. The mics aren't equally calibrated, some are more sensitive than others, so it's something of a judgement call, but it seemed like the driver top nut was the nosiest of those.

Couple ideas, if they aren't terrible and give something to think about:
* Did the additional camber bring any 2 components closer together such that they hit each other? Something you might not see if you've got the car up in such a way that the wheel is unloaded and the suspension is uncompressed. Would need to look for wear marks or try it with the car on a 4-post lift sitting on the tires.
* Is a bolt or nut completely tight, but not actually tight? Meaning, bottomed out on the threads so that it doesn't spin any more, and the torque wrench clicks, but there wasn't enough threads available to start with? I've had this happen to me before.

I appreciate the suggestions. I used a jack to compress the strut all the way and inspected. I couldn't find anything that was hitting. I also set the camber to the minimum (basically the same as stock) and it made the same noise.

As for the bolt, I'm not sure which bolt that might be. The only bolts/nuts i can think of that I did anything with are the 4 holding the plate to the tower, the strut adapter and strut nut. Those I have been over with a fine tooth comb. My best guess is there is still some play in the top nut, and I just cant get it tight enough. My other guess is that the bolts on the underside of the camber plate contact with the bearing mount. But that seems to be the same on the other side, which makes no noise.
