Yes, you should use oil, great question! 🤣 Cocoanut helps keep the car smelling nice!
Coconut is definitely a good option for the guys who push it a little harder and want the premium stuff. For the stock guys, avocado or olive should be sufficient. I’d stay away from the plain-Jane vegetable oil though. That’s asking for trouble later on down the road.

can't use olive oil unfortunately, too smokey in my air fryer.

Well i for one try not to put in shithouse fuel. If they had ELF 104 at the bowser then my car would drink it.

In regards to this new 600 Pure turbo:

Our 98 RON is equivalent to your 93........... I am hoping this turbo can achieve 430-440 Wheel HP without pushing the turbo too hard whilst hopefully lengthening the boost ramp up by a few hundred rpm compared to my 23 stock turbo. I drive a manual fyi which changes the behaviour somewhat as you are well aware. The tune i currently run with an eventuri intake and decat makes 296Wheel kws on a dream buster roller dyno. The turbo boosts to 23psi FAR too quickly. DAMN that technology creep. I am hoping to run no more than current boost ( hopefully less) to achieve my fat torque curve goals.


Seem realistic or better to go the 650 OR larger?

Heat is an issue so I ordered the Wagner intake / intercooler plenum and heat exchanger and i know a hybrid isnt ideal but i am hoping a little less heat generated by this move.

Seem realistic?
It's all in the tune, you can tune the OEM turbo to feel like a lazy big turbo too. This is actually a key part of tuning larger turbos (and even the oem turbo) on the stock fuel system with ethanol blends. You have to ramp the boost in in the low/mid range to avoid maxing out the oem HPFP.

Below is a good example of a Supra I am currently tuning. Pure800, 100% oem fuel system, 33% ethanol. You can tune the boost curve basically however you want it. This curve is by design to make sure the OEM HPFP doesn't max out with ethanol. There is still some room for more boost down low. Tune isn't finished yet. I've also used a curve like this before to help with traction as well. You can even tune each individual gear with a different boost curve.

You can also tune the throttle to be less aggressive and "jumpy". I run a more linear throttle/pedal table on my personal Supra as I hate over amped throttle.

Here is an example of custom boost curves per gear. Lower in the lower gears for some hope of traction and you will also notice that the shift to 6th gear drops in boost right in the RPM range of where 6th gear hits if I am shifting at redline in 5th. This is to help my transmission last a little while longer. ;)

My last car had a syvecs ecu that forced me to read 500 pages and still not understand it all :oops: I played around with boost by gear and it was marvelous!

Does leaving the waste open reduce heat too? It seems to make logical sense in my mind and my main issue is the ECU retarding power but I am no tuner with basic knowledge of it all. ( I pay others to make my car stop and loud pedal go vroom"

I didnt realise this stock ecu had so many capabilities compared to cars of yesteryear.

If you tell me i can adjust the traction control like my last ecu I will probably get a stiffy.

Hah yea, the modern Bosch ECU's are pretty awesome. My past life I tuned Evos and those ECU's are like sticks and twine compared.

There are some traction control tables where you can fine tune ignition timing retard when TC kicks in. It's set very aggressive OEM. There are also some tables that take steering angle into account and reduce the amount of requested torque depending on steering angle.

TC Set for those people who buy these cars and then replace the tyres with potato's.

This is awesome news. Are those tables always on in regards to the steering angle ?

Found this page trying to get more info on the Pure 600. Not too much info out there, but seems like 93 will get about 440-450 whp.

The stock run is also with the Pure600.

Another benefit of the Pure600 also seems to be the power holds/peaks until redline, whereas the dynos I’ve seen with stock turbo the power drops after 5500-6000 rpm’s.

To answer OP’s question of getting 500 whp on 93, seems like you’ll need at least a Pure650
