This was prior when I bought the radiators, and I never said I’m favouring chatgpts answer, I am just telling what I’ve learned from chatGPT and sharing it. I think you have a misunderstanding there
If you're going to use gpt you'll have to prompt properly and go deeper than 1 layer. Instruct an agent to find all available data from real applications, shops, users etc about the efficacy of each of the 4 aftermarket categories for cooling parts. It'll find the track thread or the cool me down thread and tell you that IMs are the only part with conclusive improvement data to support it.

Superficial prompting will yield a categorical response, i.e. yes improve cooling if increase power. To reinforce it's case it'll go to supplier website and take claims, most of which are not data backed or collected in a deliberately deceptive way.

I found a guy local to me saling the Koyorad aux radiators for $200, so I figured why not. Effect I saw was coolant temperature dropping about 10° during 4th and 5th gear 2500-6500rpm pulls.

I also have the do88 HE and see very little IAT rise now (1-5°, off the top of my head) during the same 4th and 5th gear pulls, they're in conjunction with the Wagner IM and meth. I have a pretty similar setup to what your building.

your coolant rose 10 degrees from a 2 gear pull? That’s wild. I’d love to see that log, because I’ve had koyo aux rads for 2 years and they didn’t do anything.

That’s just the normal coolant pump escalation mode, even stock cars do that. I can show you the exact tables that enable that.

I went back through all my logs from prior and never saw a drop in coolant temperature, compared to after the install and seeing as high as around 17 degrees drop and doing multiple pulls in a row seeing drops consistantly around 10 degrees.

I'd be happy to attach a lot here if it allowed files.

Here is my bone stock 2023 M240i dropping 26F coolant temp from a single gear pull. The drop is more drastic on the M lites because they have shutters in the front that cover the cooling stack in normal cruise mode. So this is a combo of the shutters opening PLUS the coolant escalation mode happening. Also why coolant was 225F to begin with in 38F ambient. ;)

Here is a tuned on E30 manual Supra dropping 10F over a multiple gear pull. You can actually see the DME initiate escalation mode here at the end of 3rd gear and coolant temp drops.

Here are the two DME tables. On the left is normal coolant setpoint. On the right is escalation mode. You can see it targets a coolant drop.

There are also fan control tables that ramp up the cooling stack fan duty cycle significantly.

Yep, that's pretty much any session where you're heat soaked in the hot pits. Got plenty of logs showing the same thing on the outlap.

And there is no way you're saturating the OEM radiator/HXs on the street. Unless you do 3-4-5 pulls into threshold braking, back into a 3-4 pull continuously. and repeat that 20 times.

I think what youre showing is coolant drops after a gear change. I'm talking about about a single gear pull between 2500-6500. I went back through about 20 logs prior to the install and didn't see drops in coolant temp during a pull.

Throw ChatGPT in the trash and listen to what the guys here have to say. They are very knowledgeable.

I showed both plus the actual DME tables. I can post more single gear pulls across different cars.

The logic also depends on how far the current coolant temp is away from the escalation target. Which is why we are seeing a lot of different starting points of the drop across the multiple logs.
