Its been almost 7 yrs since Mazda took the cover off of the RX concept. I think its safe to say that ship has long sailed, so I think we can take option 2 off the table.

I desperately want an inline-six Toyota-built GR Supra.
Why. The BMW Supra is better than anything Toyota is likely to produce. Have you sat in a GR Yaris or Corolla? They're horrid compared to the Supra. The GR Yaris passenger seat isn't even usable if you are over 5"10!

Two completely different cars.

I know Toyota will deliver on the next halo sports car....110% confident.

I know. One is entirely made from shitty Toyota parts. ?

But I'll play along.. out of Toyota's current inventory, please tell me which model is better than the one made pretty much exclusively from BMW parts? You Toyota fanboys are delusional.

How is your “Supra shopping” going?
"Shopping?" My Supra just landed in port a few days ago and is due to be delivered next month.. deposit placed some nine months ago.

How's your list of current Toyotas that are better than the Supra coming along? ?

I'm not a fanboy for either company but let's be real, BMW is the inline 6 king. I highly doubt Toyota would come up with something better on their own.

Wonder how heavy the new Supra model would be compared to the current - they would have to adhere to whatever new safety stuff is out, along with battery and electric motor.

If they chose to use "exotic" materials like Carbon Fiber now the price is going to go up as well.

New Supra will be a 75k car easily I'm assuming.

Why all the negative waves man...

Why someone might want Toyota built inline 6? Did you not have any issue taking delivery of your car from a Toyota dealer, have any issue with service, or read any horror stories about BMWs constantly breaking down from over engineered, sensors for theirs sensors, etc..?

Why someone like the current Supra? It has nicer interior than Toyota has ever produced. And the B58 is strong out of the gate and is "easily" expanded to well over 700 hp reliably.

Why do your opinions have to conflict?

No hate here....especially for the A90/91. Great car and great performer.

Just responding to Mr. lmao's question of " How's your list of current Toyotas that are better than the Supra coming along?"

I don't really understand this mindset the Mark IV purists have. The MKIV Supra wasn't even a Toyota-only affair like people like to think. The head on the 2JZ was built by Yamaha, and the transmission was built by Getrag, a German supplier, just like ZF is a German supplier for the transmission in the Mark V. The B58 is a reliable closed deck inline 6 capable of making huge power with mods. We should be happy.

We are happy, who said we are not happy?

I'm not a MKIV purist....actually im more of a Nissan fan than any other Japanese brand. I actually tried tirelessly to get a R34 stateside for months and no luck. I own a MKIV because it is a vehicle that symbolizes what Japan is capable of when the big wigs say, "ok...have at it" to the engineers. However, to think that Toyota isn't capable of engineering a motor to outperform a BMW motor is ridiculous. Truth be told, there are vastly more Toyota's that have much higher resale values than BMW vehicles....for a reason. Just because a manufacturer makes alot of something, doesn't mean they are "king." That just means they approached their manufacturing differently. Ford F-150's are the best selling fullsized pickups in America, yet the Tundra's resale is almost always more than that of an F-150's.

Also, some misinformation about the 2JZ in your post...head wasn't built by Yamaha.
