Noticeable orange peel from body shop repaint

So I got bumped by a pickup truck back in February and recently took the car to the shop for dent removal and repaint.

I got the car today but it has noticeable orange peel on the repaint areas and the shop owner was telling me it's normal. Wanted to get some paint professional advice. Is it always going to have noticeable transition (not colorwise, but texture-wise) even on the same panel?

Well, that's an excuse for lousy prep work. Gotta sand that primer layer really good.
But anyhow, if they haven't told you so, you can get it taken care of with good polishing. Clarification, it won't take care of the peel. It'll make it look a bit better.
Either take it to a detailer or get basic tools and do it yourself... Many YT videos out there.
Again, it's lousy job.

Wet Sand, Polish with rotary polisher, Then Polish with a dual action polisher to get rid of the holograms/swirls.

They left some holograms which went away with the second polish. The texture difference on the panels are still there. The color matches thankfully

WTF are those speckles. I'd have preferred orange peel.

if its orange peel, tell them to wet-sand and buff it smooth. Doesnt look that terrible IMO, I have seen worse from other automakers from the factory
