Off topic but how do you compare the Turbo S to the Supra? I'd imagine one is a spaceship and the other is a miata.been there done that ! had 5 turbo MK4 manuals , two turbos autos, One auto non turbo. Lots of excitement on the freeways , red dots follow you everywhere( cameras) Pumping gas became a circus. If you never had one you would think im lying, 100% true. Problem is they got so valuable( manual turbos) and parts are getting rare and expensive , I took my money off the table and bought a 2023 Porsche Turbo S and a 2023 Supra MK5 and a 1982 Toyota Fj40 us spec 50k actual mileage, original paint Rig and still had Money left over for a happy meal at MCDes. true story.
Whoever purchases that MK4 will be doing so as an investment. All the things you mention are irrelevant at this point. I don’t disagree though. I’ve never understood the cars as investments appeal.as cool as the MK4 is I cannot fathom people spending 6 figures for one, let alone any 90's "JDM legend".
For the $110K this has been bid up to I'd rather get a used gen 2 Audi R8, or save a little bit longer and get a C8 Z06 brand new. Both vastly superior cars that don't have a sticky cheap interior or need a bunch of mods to make actually quick.
I'm guessing whoever buys it has a boat load of spare cash and it'll be a somewhat emotional purchase, something they always wanted. Can't deny it could be a simple investment opportunity albeit obviously with a huge gamble.let alone any 90's "JDM legend".
