Since toyota only gave us 1 picture of Stratosphere (portimao) blue, here are a few others I picked off the g80 forums that show how dynamic this color is. They couldn't have picked a better blue from BMW's pallet.

Love it - Definitely looks like the Lexus IS-F Ultrasonic Blue.

I have XPEL stealth on the front half of mine. It’s honestly really easy to maintain. Mine is also fully ceramic coated. For washes, meguiars gold class works perfect however my detailer uses a special soap formulated for my ceramic coating. For just quick detailing, I use meguiars ultimate quick detailer and it doesn’t add any shine or harm the ceramic because it’s pH neutral

With the XPEL stealth, how identical is it to the matte gray without the PPF?

I ask as I’m currently going to PPF, however they’re using Hexis. (And although it’s very close, I wouldn’t say it’s identical)

I love my phantom. Complimented on the color almost daily.
PPF'd front + rockers, 2x ceramic. Wind up hosing it down as much as washing it...still looks great.

And does this mean it's a collector car now?

It’s pretty much identical. You’d really have to stare at it to maybe see a difference. Left side has no ppf and right does. Hope this helps

Just curious... the Stratosphere blue in the only C&D Pic avail looks more like a satin finish. However I can see how Portimao blue is to the color. Any good sources to confirm the Stratosphere will be the same as the Portimao?

The early leaks had the BMW names for the colors instead of Stratosphere blue and CU Later Gray. I don't have any direct information but someone here or on reddit from Toyota confirmed that's how they saw the color names internally before Toyota renamed them.

I think the satin look is just from the over processed press release photos. To be perfectly honest, that might not even be an actual car sprayed portimao. It kind of looks like a photoshop color change to me.

In Toyota Canada's press release they called it Portimao blue, not Stratosphere, so that's a pretty solid lead that it's one in the same.
