I am so glad to live in California. It has its quirks for sure, its expensive yes and they hate my two stroke dirt bikes but at least I don’t have to worry about people driving around with guns, looking to have easy access in case shit hits the fan…like we live in Afghanistan or something.

LOL, as soon as I saw the pistol on the bottom of page one, I was like "Oh God, here we go.."

I’m glad your glad you live in that pacific western state? when you get car jacked, let us know how glad u are?
Give it a f'kn rest already dude. It's like you have an alert set for whenever anyone has California in their post, you start foaming at the mouth and swoop in and parrot something dumb.

Florida is #4 in car thefts. Half the population of California. Texas is #2. 10 million people more than Florida. Florida is up 6%. California is up 2%.

Just curious, have you ever been to Afghanistan?

I respect your opinion, but normally the people you have to worry about are not regular citizens, and the laws don’t block the people who have guns and commit crimes all the time in California. I live here also, and was military, so yeah…

I’m just happy I have the choice to carry if I want. Btw about 2 months ago I had a homeless guy pull a box cutter on me. I had 2 pistols in my truck but nothing on me. Believe me it can happen to anyone. Lots of drug addiction and mental illnesses walking down the street every day.

I have been a registered user of this forum for only a few days, but as soon as I saw the title of this thread, I had a suspicion that it would devolve into a gun rights discussion.

I do not know anyone that worries about people driving around with guns. I'm sure you drive past people everyday that are armed, you just don't know it. That's the point.

That post above reminds me of one of the arguments that was made against KY passing a Concealed Carry law. I heard lots of people say, "If we allow people to carry concealed, I won't know when someone is armed."

My reply was, "And how will that be any different than now. Right now you still don't know who's armed."

They would just look at me like I had nine heads.

The only person that you can depend on to protect you, is you.

To get back on topic of the thread:

I mount my 9 mil right on the dashboard. I race and track with my pistol secure on the dash in case someone doesn't let me pass easily on the track. They get one warning shot, and then i'm going for your tires.

To answer the original question, I always have my handgun on me. My favorite handgun to carry is a Performance Center 1911 chambered in .45ACP, but I do have other brands and calibers to choose from. I don't have possession of my Supra yet, so I don't know if I'll do something differently in it.

In addition to my handgun, I never leave home without an AR15 SBR on an 80% lower in 5.56mm and one thirty round pmag locked and loaded and an additional nine thirty round pmags. I keep it in the map pocket of the driver's door of my 07' Dodge dually.

Yes, it is hard to see it from either side when no one is sitting in the truck, and impossible to see it when I'm in the seat. The pictures are from when it was in a pistol configuration prior to SBR. The towel keeps it from rattling around and protecting it and the door panel.

That’s what‘s beautiful about America. Freedom to choose (where to live - you name it). Do what you feel is comfortable brother! California is beautiful. Just too expensive for me. However we all love cars and that‘s what matters. No reason to fear me unless I’m backed into a corner. Same with the car. Some people drive theirs irresponsibly. Any product is only as good as the person wielding it.

My wife was attacked when our baby girl was about 5 months old. Two guys on meth trying to break into the house. In a gated community. It can happen anywhere. I’m glad she had the protection while I was working nights. They were coming in regardless and she showed them who had the upper hand w/out any shots fired. She was convincing, mom protecting her baby. The police caught both of them and we got notices where they were for about 15 years.

Criminals are cowards, on drugs or mentally ill. They never came back to bother us because it was obvious they picked the wrong person to bully. Hence, you never hear stories of police stations, gun stores, or active Marine being attacked. If you do, it won’t turn out well for the perpetrator. So we choose to have the upper hand & be a responsible. There is always a choice. Those who choose not to be responsible could care less about gun laws (or most laws for that matter). They only care about the punishment (consequences).

Crime and Punishment, old novel by Dostoevsky, still applies today. Raskolnikov, the fictional character in the story, can be found in any society, time or period. Even a killer has instincts. Gun laws will not change them. Only how they might react. I’d rather be someone he avoids when weighing the risk vs benefit of his actions (crime & punishment). Ofc that’s just my opinion - take on the novel. Another great thing about America :)

Back to this fun thread - I’m surprised more don’t keep theirs in the glove box ?

Scary story man. I'm glad it didn't turn out bad. That's what so many people fail to remember...criminals don't care about laws, that's why they're criminals. I don't carry because I'm "scared" or anything like that, it's insurance for me and my family's safety. No different than having insurance on your car or home to protect it as well.

We're all free to think and do as we want (within the law). What you choose to do is your choice, but forcing your choice on others is where I'll tell you to STFU lol
