non-value-add
You've said this before, but how in the world is this not a value add?

Of course, it doesn't add value to the car. Modifying in any way typically reduces value (especially perceived value), but saying an unlocked ECU isn't an improvement is... batshit insane.

Value-Add is a term that refers to special features or improvements added to a product or service to increase its desirability and monetary value to consumers

Agreed that modifications reduce value in most cases, not here to flip cars, I would add some context to that definition.
Could be my spoiled expectation that being able to editing something I own is inherent.

I have no problem paying ecutek for the licensing of their software, or tuners and dyno time. Paying for EnCrYptiONsPeCIAlists to undo what should have never been done in the first place all while adding zero capacity for power I deem non-value-add.

Lets ballpark what $6000 can get you otherwise. Thatā€™s a top mount kit, a trans build, forged piston & rods, manifold and fueling. Pick any of these things and they add power or more technically capacity for power.

I realize I rain on the parade in these unlock threads so Iā€™ll just let myself out!
Could just be salty and poor, so take it with a grain of salt. ;)

Every thread promising unlocking that fizzles out will become a blue ball thread. While there were no guarantees at purchase many of us have had our plans dashed, tough pill to swallow at $60k.
I personally have my line in the sand, I wonā€™t spend thousands on non-value-add services like unlocking and cloning (different than tuning). The car gets garaged for winter, if there isnā€™t a <$1000 obd unlock by next summer a new TTRS is just as fast while sounding better and no more worrying about traction! ;)
I'd love a TTRS, but man 6 figures for a new one is just too much for me.

There are many people that don't trust Visconti.
Id have to say that isnt an accurate statement. You might not like his price, but he probably has the most Femto unlocks and clones under his belt. He was also responsible for Flex Fuel and a plug and play solution to Reflex. You might not like the prices or maybe some of the antics that Marshall does, but Visconti brings a lot to the platform.

Trust me, itā€™s accurate. Heā€™s been making great friends across many car groups for years. The supra is just the latest.

Any update?... he screams into the silent darkness.
They told me ā€œstay tunedā€ when i messaged them. rumor i heard is they are in final development stages with tuning companies Iā€™m pretty certain we will see public release sometime within the next month especially since two members here are fully unlocked by mega3

I keep hearing this rumor but folks havenā€™t been clear. Is this a state-side clone or an obd unlock? State-side clone is barely helpful, taking a $6,000 two week process to a $6,000 one week process.

Full unlock in North Carolina pricing will probably be announced whenever they publicly release it which fingers crossed is soon since winter is around the corner
