Pure 800 Overboost issues

It was definitely up when he posted it because I read it. I'm also getting a 404 now and it seems like they took down their entire /blog part of the website. It had logs showing some issues and showed initial porting efforts which helped but didn't resolve it until they ported it a butt ton and fixed the issue. They basically said don't buy the cast turbos and they weren't going to work on customer cars with Pure's cast turbos because it was too much of a headache. Still live on Pure's site are a few products that say they don't recommend Bend Calibration so they seem to have some beef with each other.

FWIW my cast Pure 650 that razorlab is tuning is doing fine.

@razorlab would you mind sharing a log of that with me? You know I am considering a 650 on my own car but have never seen a log of one.

We aren't done yet. This is the second revision past the base map. Relevant mods are Wagner Intake Manifold, Kenji Catted DP. E30 on stock fueling system.

Looks excellent, Bryan did a great job with it so far.

I think its a good fit for me, being catless (with DS25/S58 inj) probably can run 26-27psi on E50+.

He mentioned injectors were my limiter. I will probably do DS25 and injectors next year as well but for the time being I’m very much enjoying the way the 650 feels. Huge upgrade over stock while still feeling OEM but continuing to pull from mid to upper RPM.

Thats exactly what im going for. I dont want it much laggier than stock, but want 600whp. I think the pure800 may be overkill for my goals.

Curious why you’re choosing DI vs PI?

Because its superior in every way besides flow rate?

It cools the cylinder and doesn't occupy charge air volume (more airflow, and less turbulent). It is essentially supercharging with fuel.

You can run leaner and make more power with the same amount of fuel. It is the best hands down for under 700hp.

Any tuner worth a crap knows how to optimize DI as you can see in Bryan's tune, he adjusted rail pressure targets for this reason.

Curious why you’re choosing DI vs PI?

I can meet my goals of 500-550whp with DI and I don't want to induce additional complications or points of failure. S58 Injectors are also dirt cheap at $200-250/set now.
