Thanks, those were the ones I was guessing. I sure do like the price. Are the very streetable?
Yes, that is why I love them. They make almost zero sound on the street.

I actually ran the same pads on one of my evos over a decade ago and I used to use that car on track, daily driving and to ski resorts in 20F and colder.

On the topic of brake pads, which are the Project Mu ones people like?
i ran the 999 series. i drive aggressively and threshold brake almost every turn. they did very very well.

These are the part numbers I found for the 999's:
Front: PMU-P9Z723
Rear: PMU-P9Z625

Looks like they are slightly higher FC (0.59 vs .55) but same temp rating compared to the Club Racers. I might upgrade to those depending on how the Club Racers respond to my added power this season.

I wonder if they are worth the extra $277.

I understood the 999 to be basically track-only. Would you agree?

They basically have the same CF and temp window as the Club Racers so I don't see why you couldn't drive them on the street. Most "track" pads have that disclaimer.

999:
200-800c
0.42-0.59CF

Club Racer:
300-800c
0.42-0.55CF

That is what the lawyers make them say.
I am driving less and less on the street these days but before my trailer i drove to every car show, fun run, and to and from tracks on race pads.

Their optimum design temps will not be reached in street driving but that doesn't mean you will coast through a red light. They still stop your car.

my .02 I cannot officially suggest the use of non-street rated pads on the street. Use at your own risk. your mileage may very. Breath through your nose, don't eat yellow snow or run w scissors.

Too funny! Someone asked me yesterday at checkin (tech inspection - legal term for saying hi to everyone) if I change my pads. Hahaha… I actually used to (many years ago) until I realized how absurd this was. Now my Supra and MX5 always have “track“ pads on them. They stop on a dime track or town and I get a bit of noise (& lots of dust). I’m so used to it now.

I’ll definitely add project Mu to my list of pad options for this car, especially since Brian (Razor) recommends them! Until these Hawk prices go up or become unavailable.

Back to tires because the question came up (at the track). Maxxis tires website shows the 275/35-18 size as unavailable for the Victra RC1. I’m hoping this is only temporary?. I really don’t want to go down to a 200 tread wear or pay $$$ for a quick wearing 40-50tw. I know Brian has a post comparing the Maxxis tires to others similarly priced. Hoping I (we) don’t have to go that route… but glad he already addressed this. I’m going to call Maxxis next week and see what’s up.

Edit: Be nice to have a @razorlab link directing us to all his helpful info or a thread to avoid pages using the search button (tire example above). Similar to the ask zrk page ?

Good friend in the Vette and his buddy’s son riding shotgun with me.

Injured vets were invited for rides. I’ll have to look up the organizations name if anyone is interested in doing this at their track. So nice of Chin Motorsport to allow them to do so. These guys we’re ecstatic and some said even their dream to ride in a track car on a real track.

Really adds to the sport when you’re able to help others. Especially those that have served our Country ?

That’s awesome. Let us know what the organization is. As a currently serving member, I’d love to keep an eye out for their events if they have anything close to my region and make it out to one.

Thanks Jacob. It’s called Veterans Trust. If not in your area, you could ask your club manager if they’d be willing to have them. It was smart on Chin Trackdays part. I love their brand/club even more now. The veterans trust group set up huge tents, the people were amazing, really made my track weekend even more memorable than just trying to beat my previous lap times ?
