They work well if you like a high Mu pad but the cons outweigh the pros, IMO. They start to feel crunchy when they get a lot of heat in them and they absolutely obliterate rotors. Not to mention wayyyy overpriced as well. To me, they are pretty similar to DTC-70 at a much higher cost.

Also, I would stay far away from EBC.. I tried the SR21 and had terrible results. Turns out a block of sintered iron becomes a giant heat sync and then bad and expensive things happen..
I wish the DTC70s were available for our Supras… You every try the P mu 999s? Really good step up from the DTC60, cheaper than the CSG and had the same stopping power, for me.

EBC.
Well seems its goin well, im winning everything so far so my class streak of 20+ 1st places since 2.0 continues, losing only to cars on smooth slicks or full CUP cars, also im competitive with 992 GT3's and GT4RS despite having worse p/w (im ~440whp and car weights 1550kg).
I have not raced since 2023 so i lack exp A LOT + car is half new so im learning the car too, its waay faster than 2.0 was.
Proper aero needs to be done for 2026 coz standard verus is weakest link now.
Btw racing in rain is fun and teaches A LOT :)

On the Supra I need to step up from the Club Racers and the 999 are on the list as an option. I may just hit the easy button and do Cobalt, but 999 sound interesting and the price is right. Are they noisy in the street?

SR11 is still a sintered iron compound, but lower Mu than 21. I know EBC have gone through several revisions on SR so maybe they're better now. Still a gamble not worth taking, IMO. Ti shims and the more brake cooling the better. I liked the SR21 for about 3 laps until they turned into a block of molten iron and burnt the powder coating off my calipers and boiled the fluid.. I got a cool pic of bright yellow rotors out of the deal, though.. If you try them, please report back!

On the Ferodo -- DS3.12 is the most aggressive compound; ultra high Mu and hardest on rotors. My criticism may have come off more harsh than I intended. They do work well, I just don't like the price relative to other options and are especially hard on rotors. DS1.11 and DSuno are less aggressive, easier to modulate, less fade resistance and they wear reallllly fast. For the Ferodo options it mostly comes down to preference on 'feel' -- high vs low(er) Mu.

Your car looks badass!!

I got sr11 rdy to put in, i got discount from EBC.
Well im looking for a pad that lasts and brakes well, not too grabby from top, thats why i ask around who prefers what :> I'd try CSG pad but i get sooo conflicting opinions about them ?

Haha thx but I'm kinda bored of the looks alrdy, i wana change it up... maybe reverse - front black and rear red. I'd wrap full car other color but not sure how it would behave on the track - the rocks flying, tires, how to maintain it etc...

Hardly a sound from the 999s all year round. However I’m rarely in cold weather. When we do get get that rare cold spell, I hear any brand a bit more. Heard them the most from my wife’s Hawk HPS+ oddly enough. Modulating the pedal usually takes care of it.

The price for the CSG is astronomical for us over here. Why I was so shocked with the 999s. They are currently on sale. So I bought another set.

Had a bit of an incident on the track. Keep in mind that this was in the advanced group. Also keep in mind that track etiquette differs from country to country. E.g. we don't do point-bys here. In fact you have to keep your windows up.

Came up behind a couple of cars, a Megane and a Subaru. Neither was on a cool down lap, and they were together.

They were going really, really slow and the Subaru in specific was driving quite erratically. Going up the snake area i had to lift off and essentially just coast for a few seconds because of how slow they were going. we were at 50kmh...that's like 31mph. After the snake, and into the big bowl, you can either take that corner wide, or just double apex it. Both work. They did neither.

The Subaru hung on the right side, completely off the racing line, and i approached from the left. i eased off the gas because i wasn't sure about what to do (erratic scare me), and they were driving so slow. So after a few seconds, i decided to make a pass. My logic was that he was off the racing line, and he was likely going to pit, as the pit entrance was right after the corner. At that point he decided to rejoin the racing line and nearly bumped into me. His buddy in the yellow Megane then gets behind me and repetitively flashes his high beams....quite annoying considering this was a track evening. Was so caught up with that (mostly the flashing) that i ended up losing the rear going into the next turn after that.

Entire thing felt quite sketchy. Mutual acquaintance (more of a friend of theirs it seems) said something something ban. I believe that means they lodged a complaint against me for dangerous driving. Don't think that's going to happen because the marshals are quite good and have footage themselves, but still annoyed about it.

what are the passing rules in that run group?
where is the rest of the video?

I can share the rest of the lap but it's not really relevant to the dicussion. The interaction with these guys was limited to this section and i pitted shortly after.

The passing rules in advanced are typically "pass when it's safe" to do so. No point-by, no signal. Ideally you should try to do most of your passing on the straight, but you have more leeway in the advanced group to pass in other places....e.g. if someone is on a cool down lap. In this case here this guy was basically off the racing line, driving really slow, and right before the pit entrance. So i made a pass. That's when he rejoined the racing line.

I think they're just simulating basic traffic like an old NFS game. Ups the difficulty a little bit.

Then you need to ask org about "advanced" driving definition or qualification. off pace for what ever reason (waiting on friend, checking dash, scratching balls) should be done off line and then his track awareness is newbie level.

Yer. Joining the advanced group is done at one's discretion, provided it's not their first track day. That's....terrible. Wish the system here was like the US, where you get "bumped" into a higher class based on skill. Thankfully, most of the people here do have some common sense and don't jump into advanced way too early, but outliers do exist......

Vertical (was for instagram) video of a full lap here. This is out shortest layout

The lack of awarness of both those drivers means they shouldn't be in Advanced yet. You did nothing wrong. If they yelled at me after that I would go straight to the organizer.

They should know where you are at all times. Especially at the speed they were going. That’s driving (body) language would be yelling at me in the advanced group, pass pass pass…. That’s the sense I get in that video. When you paused between cars, it appears you were looking for a point by and might have giving some hesitation to that driver. Regardless, he’s got to know where your are at. Car awareness is the main requirement in any advanced group. Not how fast you can go around the track ? That last driver needs to be talked to and possibly demoted if he can’t explain why he didn’t see you or think otherwise.

You obviously have to keep drifting left to avoid him and drive off if you didn’t think you could get around. Dangerous man…. And they were going slow enough to pit, imo.
