Rough startup, twice

No cold weather down here in South FL lol but I am running a E35 mix and come to think of it.. it has happened more since putting E in the tank.

Nah, I meant when I was stock it did it here and there. But now with mods it does it daily.

My 2020 has had a few rough starts where it cranked much longer than normal and then idled rough for 3s or so. Each time is was either sitting for several days or the weather had significantly changed. I’m stock other than a JB4. Hasn’t happened enough for me to worry about though.

I got this start today. That little pause doesn’t seem normal to me and I don’t know why it happens. I have a jb4 with intake and downpipe, but I’ve had this happen when I was fully stock. Car works fantastic though.

Seems normal to me. I think what you are hearing is the starter disengaging right before it starts. I'm guessing it's one of those strange times the dme says stop turning the engine its going to fire when the cranking rpm is not full speed. So it has a tiny pause of no sound.

Did you ever get to the bottom of understanding why it does this? My 2019 is exactly the same, gives the sensation of a low battery, and jolts from inside for about 5-6 seconds, then starts with no issues. Only when hot, and when switching off and back on again it starts up normally

Mine does this occasionally as well, 2021. It was doing it stock with an MST intake and inlet, it even failed to start 1 time. Seems like it's pretty normal. Few times I even had significant loss of power trying to leave somewhere shortly after starting. But that hasn't happen outside of the 2 random occasions.

I'm not too concerned with it, but will be getting the plugs checked at this oil change since it's now being tuned.
