So I decided to copy your homework some more and discovered that the "JACKPAD" brand of adapters on amazon are slightly too short to make contact on the top of the pad, so the 3M tape was doing nothing. Had to switch to a slightly taller adapter. In retrospect I should have just bought exactly what you did.

Nice! Having aluminium looks more premium and most likely will last longer than the rubber ones I have. I might want to switch over to these! Thanks for sharing!

LP: On Friday (8/9) I went in for my last free oil change at the Toyota Dealer. I've been here for my first oil change and didn't have any issues. They are the only Toyota Dealer closest to me that can take my lowered car for oil due to having an in-ground alignment rack.

Well, this time was different. After signing the paperwork for the oil change, I walked to my car and noticed the front lip was cracked right down the middle. I spoke to the service guy and the Supra Tech, the service guy said he didnt take before pics when he went out to get the mileage due to the system having problems. The Supra Tech noted that that was the first thing he noticed and was able to take pic of the damage and showed it to me with a timestamp.

I was starting to doubt myself that I was the one that caused it somehow but at the same time I was confident I didn't cause it. The lightbulb turned on in my head and I checked my front and rear dash cams! It was actually the the guy who moved the car to a "staging area" before the Supra Tech takes it in for the oil change.

I spoke to the manager, showed him all my dash cam footage, and he was also able to check their security cameras to confirm everything.

They will be reimbursing me for a new lip.

TLDR; Dealer cracked my lip and will pay for a new one.

So good of them to pay for it! Thanks to your dash cam. What brand do you have and recommend?

Absolutely crazy that the porter just goes ‘oopsies’, doesn’t check if he caused damage, and didn’t report it. Glad the service manager worked with you on making it right
He/she was probably more worried about keeping their job over doing the right thing. Sadly

yes! dash cams are highly recommended especially the one I have Vantrue S1 Pro 2.7K Front and... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CL4FQBQV?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Appreciate it amigo!

this is exactly why dealers hate working on low volume cars. they essentially lost money working on your car. it's good the dealer owned up to it.

this is why i don't bother with any complimentary services on low volume cars. the techs couldn't care less about your car. and why should they at $18/hr?

Just ordered these bad boys from @Extreme Power House

I tried installing these the other day and the OEM Bolt is too long and will not come out unless I cut it. Theres at least 2 more inches before it completely comes out.
