Started up the car and it slowly kept revving until 4k RPM.

Doesn't happen every start up, but it has happened two nights in a row (after driving it during the day).

I assume this isn't normal. What are some things I could check?

Checked the throttle and TPS. Throttle is fine, TPS is connected

You have a 2024 get it to the dealer asap and they'll use the warranty to resolve this.....

Nope not normal. Try a code reader and record it on your phone. You’re going to want to show the dealer if you can’t replicate it.

Some AI suggestions:

  1. Throttle Position Sensor (TPS): If the TPS is malfunctioning, it could send incorrect signals to the engine control unit (ECU), causing the engine to rev unexpectedly.
  2. Idle Air Control Valve (IACV): This valve regulates the engine’s idle speed. If it’s stuck or faulty, it could cause the engine to rev higher than normal.
  3. Vacuum Leak: A leak in the vacuum system can cause the engine to rev higher as it tries to compensate for the extra air entering the system.
  4. ECU Issue: Sometimes, the ECU itself might have a glitch or need a software update.

Would you describe it as "throttle hesitation" or "bogging down" when you put your foot on the accelerator? I.e. you get nothing nothing nothing and then suddenly the revs jump up?

I'm not putting my foot on the accelerator. On start up, it just revs all that way and goes back down. Then it starts idling after reaching temps.

Can you elaborate some on what you did exactly? Are you referring to you turned active exhaust back on? Something else?

The MHD platform (along with other tuning platforms) has the option of a GTS roar on start up. I had it on. I was told it's kinda glitchy, so it's recommended to turn it off and is what's causing the issue. I don't know if it fixes it as I don't have a means of getting the issue to happen. But here's hoping it doesn't do it!
