It's still a pretty low sample size but it's not looking good for the "cLuTcH iS BaD. mE GoOd dRiVeR" guys?
Yeah, I thought stage 2 would need a clutch almost immediately, but those on stage 2 and E seem like a decent amount.

Added hybrid and full frame turbos as options in case anyone tried

Idk how you guys survived past stage 2. Stage 1 was fine. The clutch only slipped on launch and shifting near redline. So I stopped doing both. On MHD stage 2 93 oct my clutch shit the bed. Only lasted less than 500 miles on stage 2 93oct before it went. Couldnt even accelerate without shooting to redline. Thankfully I didnt destroy anything else in the process. I couldnt imagine going hybrid or even stock turbo E on the stock clutch. I went with o/o/s PTB DMF and its perfect for me.

First year manuals (2023) have had the most problems, even on stock power.
Clutch Slipping on stock A91 MT... | SupraMKV - 2020+ Toyota Supra Forum (A90 MKV Generation)

Anything between 550 and 650 lb-ft of wheel torque, its only a matter of time. (Tuned on E50)
Shops like CES Motorsport, Go Racebox, and BMP Tuning have proved this.
Or, as with many other things in car/motorcycle forums the initial irrational hysteria over a few people having an issue due to factors that are likely related to personal technique or other factors has died out as hysteria tends to do. Or do you have some information about post 2023 clutch upgrades?
I'm not about to argue that a 50-60% torque increase is too much for the std clutch to deal with long term but how much torque increase do you want a stock clutch to handle?

Fair points, Phil. Initial forum hysteria can easily blow a few isolated incidents out of proportion, especially with a highly anticipated manual launch...
Regarding the torque, expecting a stock clutch to reliably handle a 50-60% increase over factory spec would be impressive, to say the least! My mention of those higher torque numbers was mostly to highlight where the absolute breaking points have been documented by shops, rather than what anyone should realistically expect from standard equipment. Always appreciate a grounded perspective

It's still a small sample but as of today, that's 9/37 have had clutch issues.. or just under 25%. Higher than I'm comfortable with to be fair, but still pretty low considering some of these are for cars running higher than stock torque and power figures.
