My 2021 used to feel twitchy and like the front floated + pulled slightly to one side under WOT

I assumed that was just how Supras drove until it was sorted by the local Supra tech (he said the alignment was way off from factory).

Now it feels planted at speed and when accelerating.
Great video starts about 45 seconds in….

Amazingly what a proper alignment will do. I love my Supra and how she drives on the street! But I will also be tracking her, so I ordered some SPL parts to go with sway bars and lowering springs. Haven’t heard a single complaint on this forum after any SPL upgrades. Might be worth considering if you ever lower the car or want to dial her in even further.

Also not a 350, sold my mach 1 for a mkv. The interior and ride quality is night and day, no regrets, couldn't be happier. Drawback for me is the steering wheel, overall steering feel. Not a deal-breaker obviously, and I've heard changing the wheel make a huge difference.

I thought going from 6 spd tremec to the auto was gonna be heartbreaking but the auto is soooo nice and I'm considering pulling my deposit for a 23mt, im genuinely having an internal crisis because I think the auto might be more fun for me.

I sold a 2014 Manual Corvette to switch to my '22 Premium. I am continually surprised at how well the automatic seems to anticipate a shift I would have made. On paper, the two look comparable. But - for me - you drive the Corvette (with some effort) but you wear the Supra. You feel more like it is a part of you. I have driven a seven hour round trip at 70 to 80 mph as well as some twisty roads in the Ozarks and I don't know what the buffeting issue is. (Someone chime in here) It seems to just go where you point it with no complaints. On flat-out bad roads it does seem to skitter, but . . . . I don't think I have had mine long enough to comment on the rattles/squeaks. Now the horn? I can hum louder. I feel like I ought to have a red clown nose on when I sound it. I think it is BMW's middle finger for having to build a car like this, then call it a Toyota. Don't take our word for it. Find someone who will let you drive theirs. I drove a '21 for about three miles and I knew I was getting rid of the 'Vette.

Do that same thing with the windows down.

The buffeting is with the window down. Extremely easy fix for this But I don't drive with the windows down too often.

I only have a single SPL suspension part on my car right now (I also have the solid aluminum diff mounts): their traction links. I was amazed at how complaint this part and a proper alignment made the rear end. I mean night and day difference. It completely addresses what I assume the journalists complain about, though I never thought it was nearly as bad as they espouse. I honestly wish I could go back and make these two things the first I did to the car.

I’m amazed at how this car can either hook and go or ride on ice depending on how I’m feeling in the moment, pretty awesome!
I'm pretty surprised no one mentioned the traction issues in the Supra. It does hook well enough, but if you get sideways there isn't a ton of steering angle to save you, and the rear end comes out quick.

Stock tire setups and alignment is not that great. Most guys go wider tires immedietly after roasting the stock PSS. I had traction issues pretty quickly from lower speeds with the stock tires.

Interesting. What hard driving I have done on twisty roads that allowed for acceleration on straight places and tight turns, it was all fun and stuck very well. I am all stock except for front strut supports.

I can't say it enough and always try to comment when the subject comes up. Please let me know what you think. I hope my experience isn't a one-off and it helps others. I wasn't expecting anything, really, from the traction links and getting them put on was just one more thing to have done while it was at the shop. Maybe an almost imperceptible amount of slop fixed. But holy hell. Really dialed it in. Another member here (I can't remember your name - sorry!) who tracks their car a lot replied to my comment when I first posted about it and confirmed my assertions. Helps a lot for just a little bit of money (compared to something like a full suspension upgrade).

Another short video with a good explanation of the different SPL parts:

I have a New Edge Cobra with 600HP and lots of chassis and suspension upgrades for road course driving back in the day, used to be quicker than 997.1 GT3 around the tracks. So I can sort of relate to a GT350 in a way. I've yet to buy a supra but test drove a bunch and also drove one on track, just waiting on the reviews and first year feedback on the MT supras. I'm sure I'll buy one though.

Supra is very different and serious although arguably the 350 has more track focused parts, the Supra is still more serious car/design to begin, I guess that's what german performance cars are like. You'll love it regardless, just from the smaller size and nimbleness you'll forget about that glorious V8 a little easier.

From my research, the issues has been:
1. Oil level measurement sometime doesnt work, does not seem to be a popular issue, permanent fix seems to be replacing the sensor and a oil valve. This also contributed to some cars measuring oil incorrectly and false low readings.
2. 2021 burning oil seems to not be a popular issue, haven't seen many 2022s with the issue, so guess 2023 is ok. Some reported 30 weight oil solving legit oil burning issue, makes sense, and also a good way to prevent wear from driving too hard on 0w20
3. Buffeting is cheap fix
4. I personally will switch to a Z4 M performance steering wheel right away
5. 2023 has quite a lineup / markup right now
6. trunk popping up and closing itself when you unlock the trunk from inside the car and close the door. due to air pressure
7. If you're after a MT model, there are some parts that have never been on any toyota or bmw before so there might be "first year model" issues to the MT ones specifically. But the gearbox itself is a modified BMW box, with roots tracing all the way back to the Z4M/1M, so I don't anticipate issues with the box itself.
8. random people yelling is that a supra at you, or people asking you why don't you buy a BMW

All in all there's no crazy issues with the car, hence why so many love it
Your #6 really ticks me off.

I recently installed the traction links on my car. I can’t say the difference was as dramatic as you describe, but it was noticeable. It helped to tighten up the rear end, especially over bumps, and it helped to calm down my wheel hop as well. I now have all the rest of the SPL arms on order and will be installing them in the coming weeks, I’m hoping to get similar improvements from them.
