We all know with enough tax dollars and unlimited spending, people with less knowledge than you can fix absolutely anything! Inflation is kinda fun too. Makes me feel like I just got a bargain only yesterday. This must be extremely successful with most states going this route. Why we ever left Britain ?? in the first place, who knows… ?‍♂

Luckily MA bases excise tax (car tax) on the original MSRP in the year of the purchase. Still hate it though.

I'm a transplant from GA, only paid tax/tag/title on initial purchase when I lived there. No more fees after that, no birthday tax. I think the bulk of counties in GA don't even require emissions testing. Really miss that :)

Nice wiki copy-pasta.

Will they tax your tin foil hat too?
Thanks, I find it more efficient and accurate then typing it out on my phone. As for my tin foil hat, it’s already taxed by the fed which is baked into the price of the product and taxed again at the state/county/city level when purchased by the consumer.

Just 2 weeks to flatten the curve, one more shot ?, get with the program @Mr. Jonathan. Big brother (government) always knows and has our best interest. There’s nothing in between, only black and white. Sheeezzzzzzz…. ?

Several hundred dollars on top of that. Mind you my house property tax bill is completely separate from my vehicle property tax. I pay well over $10,000/year on my house.
Same here for the home in Ohio. Tags even personalized only $100 a year here. Standard plates are about $50. They get the tax dollars in different ways but it all equally comes out in the end, so no matter where you live they will get the taxes one way or another.

No argument from me. I had been living in Colorado for 12 years in an "unincorporated" part of Jefferson County on the outer edge of the Denver Metro Area. I moved back to CT and nearly had a fucking brain aneurism when I got my first tax bill.
Such information is available before moving with the 'power' of the internet???????????????

I’ve taught my 23 yo daughter, no matter what, pay your taxes. This is something she will never get out of, can not fight, and will go to jail if she screws up. To think anyone would intentionally avoid them is mind blowing. And that was before a giant 80 billion dollar injection to go after more $$$.

Of course we need police, military, teachers, and many other things. What we can do is vote. So my little girl (and boy) always went to elections with my wife and I and watched us vote. She does the same now and tells her friends, we still have options, keep an open mind and think independently - despite what is being pushed on college campuses.

The guy above her friends know well. He’s Spanish and gay (shouldn’t matter but injected in everything nowadays), lost his job, and got it back. They really like him. However he didn’t fit the “popular” legacy media narrative. Ultimately = persecution if you have a different opinion.

Bottom line, be active and keep an open mind. Both parties will waste money. See where your tax dollars are going. Support idea$ that make sense to you by voting for the people that feel the same ?️. America ?? really needs to avoid 1st amendment restraints. Victim or hurt feelings mentality being taught only erodes our American values. Yeonmi Park is a great example being from N. Korea. She’s worth a listen, been to our US colleges and has a new book about her experiences.

It’s okay to disagree. That’s why we’re here ?? Keep up the free thinking ✌? and pay your taxes ? ?

True. Only question is the distribution of tax burden and how those techniques play into that which is a political hot button that everyone's nicely avoided.
I was getting at the fact that while I’ve lived all over the US and state to state the taxes are similar for the most part. Some are home, some are vehicle based, some sales tax rate etc; aside from major cities and suburb nuances a similarly priced area state to state will collect similar taxes on the whole, just in a differing method but they all collect similar on the whole if the areas are similarly priced. I can complain about my property tax but it’s no different than someone paying less property tax and much more valuation tax on a vehicle is what I was getting at. The more you own the more you owe…
