Hi guys, new here to the forum. I am considering the Supra as my next SCCA race car (T2 class) and wanted to ask if anyone here has put a full roll cage in their Supra yet. My cage guy says "if there is a will there is a way" which roughly translates to "when there is a blank check there is a way". Wanted to pick up any pointers, issues, etc that may have come up during a cage install.

I am mainly concerned about head space on the roof and also the front cross bar that needs to flow through the center stack. The Supra GT4 seems to have accomplished the head room, but it appears the FIA does not require the front brace I mentioned previously. Or at least I don't see it in the Supra GT4 pics I have been able to find.

Thanks in advance.

Yea, I did custom on the Vette as well, I like being able to talk placement over with the welder. Make sure everything is where it needs to be with adequate space for helmet and controls. Def interested if anyone has had a custom cage done in the Supra. It has a spec line in the GCR, so I imagine there has to be at least a few of you out there.

Check out https://cagekits.org/product/a90-supra-roll-cage-kit/

That is the only cage kit I have seen for the supra besides bolt ins. I also believe P2uned is selling some type of weld in cage but I think its more drag race based.

That one you linked has merit. But, at that point you basically gutting the car. I have not decided to go 100% all in or sell and move to a factory car.

P2uned cage is very very nice. Well thought out and executed. They have to have your car in their shop ffr several days and it is not cheap. believe like 3k when i last checked.

My car is in the shop now getting a full cage custom built for racing. Car is stripped down no AC only keeping the dash for fun. You gain a bit of head room when you take out the roof panel and put in a bucket seat ...

Quick release wheel is going to be best friend for getting in/out of car, still not going to be very fun no matter what....

With the exception of that actual cagekit the cost/benefit of the rollbars available right now do not make sense if you are committed to racing the vehicle

Nice, this is exactly what I'm searching for. If you don't mind, post up some pics of your cage when its done. Still haven't decided between this or a M2C, but knowing the cage layout would be a huge help in making the call.

All of the drag car cages are custom, to get certified it's basically 'strip the interior' time.

How do you like this roll bar? I've been looking at it as an option. I'm currently looking for something to meet SCAA safety level 2 requirements so I can participate in their hill climbs (I'll be at the Pine Mountain Hill Climb next April). With the way this bolts to the floor, as you're showing, I just can't see that it's doing much in terms of safety... though it may technically meet the requirements. Currently considering the AGI just to "meet requirements": https://agiprecision.com/supra-mk5/r8d4qivqklrbk8ydbyofoh2mx9wdii.

Dunno? I don't do hill climbs. But for SCCA TT Max2 no one has said anything.

I am still going to get one- at some point... probably go weld in semi custom.
