Hi supra gangsters,

I am a regular track driver living in NJ area and have a 2022 supra 2.0. I drive 1-2 open track or HPDE events in NJMP or other nearby tracks every month. I found the stock suspension is not very reliable on track because my front alignment has been knocked out of alignment for every 4-5 track days. a friend who is pretty good at tracking and modifying cars recommends installing SPL lower control arms and/or camber plates to reinforce the front suspension + lower spring for more cambers angles in the front. Any thoughts on doing either one or all? the top priority for me is really keep the suspension more reliable so that I dont have to do alignment for every 2 months. :(.

plus is it because I used curbs too much? here is a video of me driving in NJMP: any suggestions are welcome and appreciated ! Thanks in advance!

The only adjustable part in the front stock are the toe links and the way it is designed is that there would be no way for it to shift out of what it was set at unless it was left loose or you are bending something.

isnt the bending kinda micro? the steer shifting isnt super obvious. it only happened when i left the steer in the neutral position and let it go for a few seconds. do you suggest i go to the shop and let an experienced mechanic exam it first? last time the alignment dude said it was ok n nothing was bent tho

I beat the crap out of mine on curbs I am over due for mid season alignment. But mine does not move much, still tracks straight. 2 sets of tires I have gone through so far this year wore dead even

is the 2.0 have any different parts or lessor parts ?

thats an interesting guess, also my first guess too since my friends who owns 3.0 did not have much alignment issue like my 2.0. however I did a quick check, toyota sheets show no different parts also part numbers are the same for control arms as well as struts. https://parts.lakelandtoyota.com/p/TOYOTA_2022_GR-Supra/Suspension-Strut/15947084/48520WAA04.html

the camber on right front wheel was close to 0. :(
Wait a second. So they measure it at zero and then what do they give you after alignment? What do they tell you the camber is after alignment? There is no camber adjustment in the front when the car is stock.

Yeah something doesn’t check out. Even if the camber did end up changing on track (like from bending something), the alignment guy would have no way to fix it since these cars don’t have any camber adjustment on the front (without aftermarket camber plates or LCAs).

I agree with razor and rock.

to get to zero camber, you would have had to hit something seriously hard, and cause some serious damage,

I track, hit curbs and dragons teeth, and so far zero changes to mine.

(curbs on track, never on the street. Yikes!)

I've been bouncing my car off of curbs a lot this summer (mostly on purpose!) and I have hub stands to check my alignment. The car has been holding rock solid with adjustable LCAs and Toe links.

Just a sample of 1, but the M2...I mean Supra suspension is pretty tough.
