Why is the wastegate flapper arm top welded like that? None of my Pures look like that. All OEM looking. Was that done outside of Pure?

That turbine also does not look like a 800 turbine. I also didn't listen to video audio so you can tell me I don't have the right context.

My Pure 800 on left, Pure 700 on right, neither have welded wastegate flappers.

Not sure about the weld thing but will check. These were the replaced parts.

The housing? Don't you have the re-machined housing while I have the new cast housing?

Ah yes, yours is the new cast. That could also be the reason for the flapper arm weld.

Placed the DAW order on the 1st, so 2 weeks ago. Sent them an email from a different email ID asking them the ETA if I were to order the same turbo today, and I just got this response.

They really rubbed me the wrong way. Its crazy that they don't understand the impact their behavior has on their business. I've already talked one person out of getting one of their turbos. They really don't give a crap out their customers, or their own reputation.

Let's recap:

1 - no mention of a backorder on their product page listing. Not even some kind of post purchase follow up email. Had to find out by reaching out the next day to check.

2 - upon finding out about the lengthy backorder (2-4 weeks, allegedly), I politely explained that it's time sensitive and would appreciate a refund. They refused. This was just 24 hours post purchase.

3 - see post 412, which is definitive proof that they're lying about their delivery times. Also tells me that them leaving out any mention of a backorder was not an oversight.

I got my pure within one month in October.

Took quite a bit longer than that to get my (new gen Pure800). 7 weeks to ship, and another week to get to me. But even a month, in the middle of the race season, was longer than I was hoping to wait to get a replacement turbo. That's a few races (and track days too).

I was OK with Pure taking that long though, because at no point did I feel lied to. Their website currently says 8-10 weeks.

Meanwhile DAW: nothing on their website. If you ask pre purchase they'll say 1-3 weeks. If you ask post purchase they'll say 2-4 weeks. In reality it's probably going to take even longer than the upper end of that range.

Haven't seen any pure800s locally for sale. I've checked around (Sam, Tensai). I've seen the 900 though.
