Good read and a lot of great info here, looking to get the new Recaro RSS for my Supra. No plans to use a harness , going with oem seatbelt and extender.

If you've never tried a harness, def find a car with them installed and ride shotgun (or drive?). Seats are very nice. But the harness also keeps you from moving around and let's you focus on driving rather than having to keep bracing yourself everytime you turn or brake. They're really complimentary.

Evasive gave me a quote with the PCI kit below and the Recaro mount, are both required or will PCI bolt into seat?

where are you going to source the RSS from? I can’t find a vendor willing to ship it under about double the price of the seat. I’m in Dubai. Most Japanese vendors simply don’t reply to questions

The PCI bracket should be all you need. You only need the Recaro side mounts if you've only got the PCI base. I'm running PCI's for my Recaro's.

Will share some pictures later, but I installed the Sparco Evo S and the Macht Schnell Clubsport mounts with no harnesses. Few points of feedback following the install.

- I did not need the seat belt extender. If I was going to use it, I would have needed to shorten/cut the stock seatbelt height in order to slot the extended belt through. For track, I route the seatbelt through the seat slot and then into the stock buckle -- it is remarkably tight. On street I get a little lazy and just route the seatbelt over the seat when I'm not as worried about submarining.
- If you are looking for more angle on your seat (I like a fair amount of angle with my knees higher due to back pain) I would not recommend the club sports, and instead go with a traditional floor mounted setup. Once I get another bucket seat for the passenger I will move the clubsport mount to that side, and get a fixed setup for the driver side.
- This was also the most annoying seat install I've ever had to do  makes me miss working on the E92 M3

Can someone check my shopping list? This is assuming an OMP HTE-R XL, which has a bolt spacing of 440mm

(BK side mount also has mounting hole for OEM buckle)

seat belt extender (pick M3, 2018, Front Driver, regular 7 inch, United States)

Exact setup I used to mount Sabelt Taurus XL (Max) on driver side.

PCI Slider Seat Mount. A90 should be same as bmw e90/e92.

Can use the standard PCI slider side mounts. However, the Sabelt front holes are drilled really high. I didn't realize this until it was too late and don't feel like pulling the seat back out. If you like tilt, you will need to use a tall side mount where only the fronts slots are shifted up.

Sub strap: PCI sub harness mount:
https://www.pci-racing.com/product/harness-mount/

Lap belt: You cannot put an eyebolt thru the lower stationary bottom-mount hole, the bracket is shoved against the trans tunnel. It MIGHT fit on the door side, but you're just asking for interference problems at that point.

Cusco power brace seat rail for clip-ins. Note you will need to widen the holes with a step drill bit. If you find this online, the rail for the rear has 2 loops. Do NOT buy the front rail with 3 loops. It mounts WAY too far forward for a sub harness.

OEM Seat belt: PCI slider will come with 2 mounting tabs for OEM seat belt. You sandwich these between the sidemount and slider. Right side for buckle, left side for belt end. Also, run the lap belt inside of the buckle (unlike what is shown here)

For anyone else running this specific seat, for some reason the threaded inserts seem be installed by a drunk Italian, and are all at different depths. Buy multiple M8 bolts in different lengths.

And buy ordinary hex head m10 bolts to replace the torx head bolts for bracket-to-chassis, same as any other seat bracket.

Used the pci adjustable setup for an sparco evo xl on the passenger side.

No need to use the spacers with this setup. What's nice is you can rotate the front of the seat outboard to clear the trans tunnel, and rotate the rear inboard to clear the door panel. From there, position the seat forward just enough to reach the rear bracket bolts. For me, this was just slightly forward of the midpoint. Your arms will vary.

Unfortunately, modern BMWs cannot have their seatbelt receptacle jumped with a wire or resistor, so i also bought a used spare receptacle (72117313299) and a dummy plug. These are attached to the harness and rest under the seat, while the factory receptacle stays bolted to the seat bracket with the connector ziptied up. No need for awkward teetering on the doorsill while you plug things in.

Tighten everything and then drop the whole assembly in the car.

Would you be able to use this trick to fit an OMP WRC-R XL? Likely YES. The OMP has shoulders that are 20 mm wider on each side, but the base is 20 mm narrower on each side. And I measured about 13 mm gap to the door panel (was hard to get the angle on the picture, but you get the idea).
