Congrats i'm glad you guys got a car!

Definetly take it to the track. The nice thing about it, is that you can schedule it out pretty far, way past the break in. I bought my car November last year and i had my first track day with it Feb 22nd. The car had about 1700 miles on it at that point so well past break in.

As someone else said, if she's new to the track she shouldnt be pushing the car any harder than she would be on a normal road. I myself was only driving at 2/10s of what the car is capable of. My instructor lapped me in his bone stock S2000 with all winter tires. It really gives you an appreciation of what the car can do and will allow her to be a better driver out on the street.

I think when people think about "the race track" they Invision driving their car like an F1 racecar driver...
But that's far from the way it actually is...
Nice thing about the track is it gives you a place to get more comfortable with your car and possibly push the car and yourself a little harder ( if you choose) then you would/could on the street...

People worried about paint damage need to understand everyday you drive your car on public roads you risk paint chips...no different than at the track....

I believe anyone that's never owned a semi powerful rear wheel driver car should do at least 1 HPDE day...just my opinion of course...

That being said
My wife, 17yr old daughter and I all enjoy HPDE as often as our schedules allow...it's like a drug...Hahaha

Haha someday i'll get to that point. yeah my mechanic tuned his and tracked his when it only had 300 miles on it and car runs just fine. Honestly i think the whole breakin thing doesnt raelly apply to new modern vehicles. Pretty sure (no real proof of this), that the factory breaks in these engines before shipping them out.
