The metal pans have the magnets on the filter. I’ll take some photos.Does the M pan still have magnets? I don't see any in the images above?
Yea I can do that. Do you have dimensions of the OEM you can share? This has definitely piqued my interest, as I am in the process of building a SCCA T2 car out of the Supra. I purchased the PPE Aluminum Pan (I also wanted the NPT port for a temp sensor for my AIM MxM), and when I started to evaluate the fit, I realized that it would hang down a good 1.5-2.5 inches below the undercladding. Understanding that keeping the underside as flat as possible for good aerodynamics, it wasn't something I was willing to do.
Am very interested to see fitment photos! Also, do you mind measuring and posting the dimensions of the X plan? Would like to compare to the PPE pan.
I ended up just measuring it while it was on the car to estimate rough fit. I took a pic.Yea I can do that. Do you have dimensions of the OEM you can share?
If you don’t want to cut I bet the M3/M4 pan would work better but let’s see what the measurements say first. I might just buy a M3/4 pan as well… for science.
I was looking at the PPE pan as well for the NPT port but I already log trans temp from the ECU.
Cooler trans > a little bit of dirty airflow.I ended up just measuring it while it was on the car to estimate rough fit. I took a pic.

Now, thats from the joint between the pan and the trans to the attachment rail for the undercladding. I measured the PPE pan at 3 inches in depth. So it'll hang a little over 1/2 inch below the undercladding. We can use the depth measurements for the X pan and M3/4 pan to get a comparison.
Interestingly, I wonder if that underside shot of the GT4 is how it races. Do they put any undercladding in the center? Anyone know? The GT4 shot above appears to be missing the undercladding attachment rails in my pic. ?
Most people with PPE pan just cut out a square. It fits flush then.small section of paneling
Its not a zero-sum game, there are alternative methods to cooling, like upgrading the heat exchanger.Cooler trans > a little bit of dirty airflow.
Cooler trans : lower temps = longer sessions, less breakdown of the fluid, less wear, extended life.
Also the rest of the car isn’t a full flat bottom so you won’t see any negative effects from removing that small section of paneling to fit a larger pan which is also fairly flat.
Thanks man, this is helpful. Its actually deeper than the PPE pan! If you don't mind, would love to see some pics if you decide to do a cutout to accommodate the pan.@theox @Branflakes123
