There is a pin that connects the solenoid to the valve flap. Without that pin, the flap can freely move. And the pin just rests in a slot of the solenoid. I see some exhausts like the awe fake out the solenoid by bolting it to a bracket they include in which you add a fake pin and ziptie it to the body... i also see people going to great lengths to disable the flap opened. Is it really needed? If you stay with the stock exhaust cant you just disconnect the pin and secure the flap opened? Then the solenoid and turn and turn and nothing. Likewise with exhausts like the awe, cant you just leave the pin out and bolt it to the bracket and be fine?
for reference the link below is the install instructions for awe, wouldnt leaving the pin out do the same thing so who cares if the valve started opened or closed, the solenoid wouldnt touch anything when it moves.
what am i missing?
