I recently got a full car ppf (Xpel ultimate) and ceramic (Xpel) done on my A91 Supra. I was wondering if this is a good install. Out the door, ended up paying 5k plus tax. If it’s not good please don’t barrage with comments saying it’s not. Please tell me why. It’s frustrating having a bunch of people saying an install sucks and not saying why when you’re 5k out the door. The shop is also an 8 hr drive so I really hesitate in taking it back because of issues. This shop has done 15 Supras and is located in Miami. Very good reviews and nice facility with leds and dust controller room. Not certified because installer is not native. He’s matted out g wagons and done 911’s. Below are the pictures.
heres captions:
image 1: front bumper, huge air bubble in corner. Can’t smooth down due to tension on film.
image 2: same as image one, but on other side
image 3: fitment
image 4: appears to be razor blade that cut of section of the template
image 5: missing sensor cowling from template
image 6: cut at the end of relief cut
image 7: air bubble
image 8: fitment around badge
image 9: tear next to vent (they did take off vents for install and used one sheet versus template for hood.
image 10: razor blade cuts off template, lifting
image 11: more lifting
image 12: bad fitment on gas flap and area around it (not all sides even)
image 13: random added relief cut, not on other side
image 14: lifting edge with a lot of dirt in it, also it looks like the paint was cut slightly with the razor
image 15: air bubble and razor cut on film
image 16: not flush with edge
image 17: edges not tucked
image 18: edge lifting
Image 19: edges not tucked
image 20: template blocking key entry
