I miss my 2020 3.0 premium, sold it during covid used car price madness, thinking about getting back into one but a 6mt, as a previous owner getting back into the car but with a 3rd pedal what are your thoughts and comparisons?

The AT has better gearing, acceleration and fuel economy.

The MT has better traction and driver engagement.

That's probably the most succinct and "accurate" answer to the AT/MT question for the Supra I've heard. I completely agree with this having driven both cars.

Also welcome back and I had a gen 2 Viper before I got into an MT Supra. I really miss that car. The Supra is a much better all arounder than the Viper was but I love them equally for different reasons.

You'll love the Supra its so much fun.

Yea I loved my 21' for two years...but really missed the manual transmission. I did end up selling the best automatic car I ever owned in favor of a 06 Gen 3 Viper I bought with only 23000 miles.....owned that for a little over a couple years. I've been lurking here anyways and hitting up the ECU status page every so often LOL...I think we are where we are. Two weeks ago I sold my Viper and claimed a incoming MT Supra! Wednesday I took delivery.....And I love it! This car is the best car for me for sure. I did toy around with idea of getting a Z....but even though I could get the Z a lot cheaper I just couldn't do it. I've owned a 350z back in 03 and sold that for a 370z in 09 an spent a few years in that. I sat in it and even though it was cool and all...it was a been there done that for me.

But enough with the jibber jabber......pics of my stock Supra....wish I could change my name but ehhh I'm fine lol.

The 21' Supra I had before was great, and if having an auto doesn't bother you....man you can't really go wrong.

I like the manual better...and it's really a driver's race if you even care about that. The manual feels fast...and feels good when you rev out a gear...I haven't fully revved mine or ripped hard on it since I"m still in the recommended break in period...but I already like it waaayyy better than the auto.

Now...prefering the MT is a personal preference for me...I can see someone else's argument that the auto has the extremely fast up shifts and fast poppy down shifts using the paddles. That 21' had the best auto I ever owned....But in the end it wasn't enough to sustain me. Your feelings on that may differ.

I love the MT in the Supra...and it's the best car I could've bought for my preferences for sure. The auto felt video gamey in a fun way....and the manual has ripping gears....both lots of fun.

LOL Viper owners. I'm already realizing that I'll forever regret selling mine if I'm not in a position to own both when the 25/26 I want becomes available.

How did you like the viper? I rented an 06 viper as my wedding car instead of a limo! TBH, I only got married so I could have a reason to rent a viper lol
I Loved it! Mine came with BC coilovers but was otherwise stock. Everything was perfect and in the years I owned it I had zero issues. It really reminded me the having a fast manual car is where it's at.

I bought mine with 23k miles on it and it looked and felt new, I sold it with 35k miles on it. I was really racking up the miles cuz it was hard not to drive it. I was in a band before and had hardly any time to drive it...but after that was over...miles started coming on. It still had mostly all original parts too but I knew once I crossed a certain mileage threshold the value would tank...I was willing to stay with the Viper but...

While buying my wife a GR86 when I saw a manual 2025 Supra was coming to that dealer...so after buying the 86 I slept on it and went back we worked a deal. I had to wait about 3 weeks but man...I love the MT Supra a lot!

Thank you for the reply! Vipers are amazing. Big heavy V10s with clutch like a truck lol. My dream is a last gen viper, but prices for the GTS are still in the 6 figures!

Here's a story about my wedding day

So I rent a beautiful red viper convertible (had to be red because of good luck in Asian culture). I brought it home the day before but my aunt was sad because she wanted to dress it up with pink wedding bells and streamers, like the old tradition with a limo.

I said no, it's a freaking VIPER. But of course, I love my aunt so I let her decorate it anyways. Kinda tacky but great memory.

Anyways, I pick up my bride from her house and take her back to my house (traditional vietnamese Chinese style). I'd never driven a convertible before. Little did i know that driving at freeway speed, your hair goes EVERYWHERE.

My wife had just had her hair and makeup done, so the whole ride she was leaning down so the wind wouldn't mess up her hair! I look over and the whole time she's mouthing "I'm going to kill you" lol

Anyways, while on the freeway, I somehow accidently trigger the windshield wiper. Unfortunately my aunt had TIED THE STREAMERS to the wipers, and next thing I see is the wiper BREAKING OFF AND FLYING out into the freeway!

And that's how our marriage started lol. 18 years later, 3 kids, wouldn't change a damn thing
