I don't even get why people were so toxic about it in the first place, the Gallardo is an amazing car for the money. Sure it's older and comes with Lambo problems, but OP already knew that going into it, and it doesn't make it any less of an awesome ride.

In my case I mean things like the Lambo tax on mods, though I've heard the Gallardo isn't actually as bad as you'd think yeah?

But yeah the "lambo problems" in terms of like reliability are almost the same thing as non-bmw guys saying BMW's are "check engine light machines" that constantly end up in the shop. Always overblown.

I remember being asked to show this Toronto doctor around Calabogie in his 1-week old red convertible f430.

After a lap, he said he didn’t want to drive. We spent a fun day together where I enjoyed driving his car! Another regret not getting the 458 thereafter!!

I have more fun on track than I did in my faster cars. I've never tracked a MR car before and found it's really, really nice. I had to adapt, which was half the fun. With narrow front tires, I expected understeer everywhere it went. Not only was it almost non-existent, but I had to have quick hands to keep the rear from coming around. It’s also really, really predictable.

While I'm not a fan of Italian sports cars like I mentioned, I can definitely say I would prefer early 2000's offerings compared to what is offered in their lineups today.

Agreed. All the new stuff is basically computers on wheels. They have successfully refined all the soul and personality out of their cars.

This is the only down side. I’ve had a hard time finding parts. Some no longer exist. The only reason I want to sell is so that I don’t have something weird fail and I end up with a 3000lb paper weight. I don't feel like Lamborghini suffers from this as much.

If you are handy at cross-referencing parts, you can save a ton. If you do your own work, you save even more. I probably spent more on Supra parts than the Ferrari. I’d imagine Lamborghini would be the same, if not better since it’s part of the the VAG.

Congrats, I owned a Super G 14 years ago. Listening to the starter whine for a couple of seconds before the V-10 roars to life is definitely something.

Word of advice- never put the gas cap on top of a fuel pump when pumping gas. Because if you forget about it, then it’s a $500 gas cap.

part of me wants to say they couldn't include a tether on a car that much? But honestly I think every manufacturer is guilty of stupidity or oversight on trivial things.

Congrats on the Gallardo! Going from a turbo inline 6 to a screaming NA V10 is a dream move. The Supra is an amazing platform, but that V10 sound and Lamborghini experience are hard to match. Enjoy it in good health and thanks for sharing your ownership journey!

Don't get me wrong, Gallardo is cool as hell, but performance wise, isn't that just a lateral movement with insane costs associated with it? Outside the LP 570-4 Superleggera of course (much faster)

I hope you’re joking. The gas cap is solid aluminum with Lamborghini inscribed on it.

It has enough performance with a more exciting driving experience.
