Got the downpipe *almost* off. ?
Exhaust disconnected... Having trouble breaking the v-band loose to pop it off the bracket. Eventually I'll win and the new one will go on.

do you have to remove the whole exhaust or can you unclamp it from the downpipe?

You can unclamp the exhaust and slide it off the downpipe. Downpipe can be installed without removing anything else.

The exhaust moves juuuust enough to slide the DP out. Having an extra set of hands, to pry the exhaust back, makes it easier.

I always see these on top mounts but does anyone put them on lower mount turbos? Do they have any drawbacks to them?

It will always have a positive effect for heat management.

Absolutely on bottom mount big turbos. Agree, not on stock frame. There's on in this picture, it's a little hard to see.

It's back there. I can get a better picture in the morning, this one is hard to see.

I can't bring myself to track a car with an OEM cat... Knowing what's happening to the turbo. ?
I decided to make an exception if it helps the car to live longer and happier.

Engine is back in and ran through some heat cycles. Just waiting on a tune and for the new turbo to go in. Just in time for boost season!!

Took off the H&R springs in favor of HKS Hipermax adjustables. The front settled too low for my liking with the H&R. So far, so good with HKS: I like my revised ride height and it seems a bit more compliant but it’s early days.
