Well I was traveling to San Antonio from south texas. Saw This car didn't know what it was. He kept revving at me.... Just to keep it short, it didn't keep up..?‍♂??
But it was a nice car ?
Wanted to take a pic of the car but he stay behind & didn't want to pass me after he got spanked twice..
(The only thing I saw the holden sign and a ss badge it was black 4 door, dual exhaust)

That car was also made (or brought over, I don't know too too much about these) in the states. It was more than likely Chevrolet SS. It's popular for those guys to do the Holden badge swaps as the SS is a rebadged Commodore.

It did have new paper plates ? & unless they did the whole car from grill to bumper swap then I guess it was the chevy ss

More then likely as stated it’s a Chevy SS with the front bumper swap and potentially the rear swap. It says in that article that when they were brought to the US they were rebadged as a Chevy SS. They’re still really cool sedans in terms of a family hauler and one of the few sedans you can get as a stick shift although the manuals are few and far between.

I see SO MANY OF THEM

They were pretty good for what they were. Reasonably well built with an LS engine for Hyundai money.

Also sold as a Pontiac G8. I bought one in 2008 and still have it. It’s a great car and handles well with just a few suspension mods thanks to its 50/50 weight distribution. Holden benchmarked the E39 M5 when developing it and did a pretty good job.

Mine is the 6.2 V8 with 6 speed manual with a fairly aggressive cam and supporting valvetrain mods, longtube headers, and a Truetrack diff. She rips. It’s definitely faster from 30-150 than my stock Supra, but a tune and DP Supra would walk it.

I’m going to gut the interior, add a cage and racing safety equipment and treat her dirty on track days.

My buddy has the US version, the Pontiac G8, making about 800WHP on a supercharger. Thing is a monster. Really fun car.

I used to own a 2015 Perfect Blue Chevy SS Sedan with the 6spd manual. Everyone called it a “four door corvette” but it was more like a four door 1LE Camaro.

It came with the 6.2L LS3 and I had; intake, headers, X-pipe, exhaust, tune, shifter and some miscellaneous parts off of the ZL1 Camaro installed. The most common mods owners would do would be to convert it over to the Holden visually (ie; blackout all of the chrome bit, badging, etc.)

It was decently quick, but I ended up trading it in for a 2016 Cadillac ATS-V which was waaaaay faster especially when modded.

Nice rig! I traded in my '14 SS for the Supra and was surprised at how well it kept it's value. I had the Holden conversion and loved that car. For a heavy four door sedan, it handled almost as good as the Supra at the track...in some ways, better.
