Did they sideswipe it with their own vehicle? That's an easy way to get caught, now that there's physical evidence transferred onto theirs..

I agree with this. It does look like a hit and run. The only odd thing is the front and rear glass broken the way it is.

Is there also damage on the roof of the car? Hard to tell from the couple photos posted.

There was shoe marks on the hood (Air Force 1’s (inserts black Air Force 1 meme)) and a brick inside the trunk so , definitely on purpose. I just don’t understand the side swipe ; unless they were drunk and messed up their own vehicle in the process

I’m 99% sure they swiped it with their own car , because I don’t know what object could make those marks
I really think either they were drunk and accidentally hit it in the process , or simply didn’t give a damn
Or two ; the car they were in was stolen so they didn’t care ???

That kills me to see that damage!
I had a similar but not as bad incident happen to an older car, many years ago in CT. My friend and I went out to a nightclub in his Triumph TR7, so I left my car parked on the street. When we came back, the rear corner of my car was bashed in, and there in the street was part of a front bumper of a car. I called the police and gave them the piece. Within a couple of hours, they found the car and the owner at his apartment complex.
I was very lucky that evidence was left behind by the drunk driver.
I wonder if your insurance will total your car.

I’m glad it all worked out ! Unfortunately neighbors either didn’t catch it in their cameras or they just don’t want to get involved so that sucks ; but I doubt they’d total it since I’ve seen people get into accidents here and not get it totaled (which kinda sucks because who wants accidents reported on their brand new car, I’ll rather have it replaced)
Oh well

Thanks. Hopefully it won't take long for you to be back on the road.

Doesn't explain why Fat Albert decided to sit on your windscreen though
