Why make that statement bit not want to share why you think they are bad?

Is this coming from watching that YouTube video where the guy swapped out his SPL parts for Verkline because they got them at a discount and then stated the same thing about SPL parts even though it was VERY clear the SPL lca’s where installed incorrectly?
I am looking into the HKS and the MSS how do you like it and did you take it to the track??
MSS definitely stiffer than stock. On the street it feels slightly too stiff sometimes… on the track it feels too soft always.

I guess it makes for a good compromise. Will be selling mine soon when my JRZ coilovers come in.

Overall happy with MSS and have ridden on track in a similar Supra that had HKS and felt the MSS was slightly stiffer/better for track.

Again, both are too soft for a dedicated track car, but MSS superior on track with a bit of extra stiffness.

Benefit of HKS is the additional strut-side clearance for wide tires that MSS doesn’t provide up front.

Good that you are doing research. There is finally enough track-use info to become useful. Jackie pretty much seems to have it all figured out for anyone wanting to get that serious. I'll be following his checklist LOL. IF you are going the track route.

For street: I wouldn't do anything that didn't add to comfort. IMO no need for things that don't help with street driving such as sway bars, fancy coilovers, control arms, etc. unless you just want to have some fancy parts and have fun putting them on. None of that helps with driving on the street and while the car may feel slightly different, it's not helping anything.

Just be sure you are doing what is right for the car. I.E. I see that some people seem to throw parts at cars out of habit, while that is obviously not the best way to go about things. For example: One of my cars has a fairly stiff sway bar in the rear but OEM up front because it's the best way to work the car. That may not be right for a Supra. Etc, etc.

All just my opinion, of course. I build cars differently, so usually go against the grain and have unpopular views LOL. I come from the camp that doesn't buy a part for my car unless it makes an improvement. Yeah.. it's kinda boring, though. You should see how plain they look ?
Definitely depends on what you want to do! Spot on… Who says you have unpopular views? You track and I love to hear your opinions! I couldn’t be happier with the way my car feels and tracks right now. The computer may be pissed off and it’s true I did rush my mechanic and alignment shop to make a track weekend deadline…. But damnnnnnnn, I wouldn’t change a thing. My car feels like it’s on rails! I donā€˜t even have coilovers yet ?. Great tires, aggressive track alignment, stiffest setting sway bars, springs and controversial (better than OEM, imo) SPL parts, turned out so much better than I expected at Homestead. The AWE track exhaust and catless downpipe - not needed. But… ?… how could I drive her at the track without that monstrous sound? LOL
There’s a lot of personal preference going on with this thread. LOVE IT!

Are the SPL parts controversial because of that one video with the moron who had the LCAs installed incorrectly and was putting their competitors parts on the car because the shop got them at a discount? I can't remember the brand... it's the Polish (?) company that does the tubular subframes. Anywho, I've always known SPL to have a top notch reputation and have a measurable impact on the track.

That’s what I’m assuming. That guy has no credibility so I wouldn’t pay any kind to it. Verkline is the other brand.

SPL has also been proactive with making their products better on the platform as well. When the rear upper arms came out originally, they were a straight design. After testing and track time, they moved to a curved design.

I’m glad I’m not the only one who saw right through that. That said, it was pretty obvious.

Verkline! Thank you. Their subframes look awesome. Not sure what kind of benefit it would have for this car. Already seems pretty rigid. Maybe weight savings. Good to hear SPL is continuing to improve their parts for the platform. Sign of a good company. Run across at least one who sells their goods here that have problems with their parts and just keep on selling them.

Because "OMG THE REAR BUMP STEER MAKES THE CAR UNDRIVEABLE!!!!!!!!!!"

All the people actually tracking their cars more than once and know how to set up cars correctly:

What JRZ setup? direction I am leaning... just got to bite $bullet

Haven't been on track but they are easier then the hks from what I heard with adjusting. Install was easy, adjustments easy, ride is amazing, still keep your edc. Mss is a reputable company. They have their craft dialed in.

My opinions aren't popular because I'm a minimalist. My other car is almost stock. When you open the hood the only thing you see is an air filter.
None of my cars have a ton of horsepower but their lap times are rather respectable.
I only swapped out OEM parts for aftermarket if it'll make the car more reliable or actually makes a difference and performance.
Keep in mind, I am only a medium skilled driver, so don't notice much difference in between some of these parts.

You and I are the same in regards to that methodology. However, I finally purchased aero!
