Replace Battery notification?!?

Has anyone else experienced this denotation on their dash? The car is a 2021 only has 100 miles on it but has been started and driven.

I placed a new bmw trickle charger on the car until stating, fully charged. Dash error reappears.

Did it sit at the dealership long before you bought it? Battery might have gone dead there and it needs to be replaced.

I’m not certain how long the car was at the dealer (guessing a couple months).

The charger was attached to the negative pole on the passenger side of the engine compartment and the positive terminal under the red cap.

It’s a software update the dealer has to do. I had the same light, took care of it in an hr if the supra tech is in.

? ... Oh the dreaded trip to the dealer. Ugh.

Perhaps it’s just me but whenever I have the pleasure of going to the dealer.... I always get an unexpected small surprise (scratch, mark and/or blemish) because most really don’t care. Just another car to them. ?

I did just speak with the dealer and expressed my concerns. Sounds like they have a Supra tech that provides the attention to detail I’m looking for.

In ontario canada, i had this at the showroom in november. Car ran fine, but noone could erase so-they replaced the battery. After they found one ! It was a comedy show for toyota canada. There is a bulletin outlining that car should be charged regularly at the dealer and locked at all times to turn off all computers. Noone paid attention.
I charged all winter like you. Bmw sells a branded triclek charger for twice the going rate. I asked toyota about chargin. No clue!!

Took mine in today. Head unit acting the fool. It'll just crash and restart repeatedly. They took it back to test/charge the battery and came back out about 20 minutes later to tell me they must order a new battery and that was likely causing my issue. More to follow when the battery comes in sometime next week.
Any thoughts from the crowd?

~ Heading to the dealer tomorrow for a new battery. I’m going to wait on the swap while it’s completed. The new battery is in stock.

The trunk is ready for their work. No obstructions. ?
