Ok I installed this POS this morning and got a check engine light. I got an P12A9 over boost error code. I followed the install directions of opening the hood, locking the doors and storing the keys far away from the car. I waited 10 minutes before installing the JB POS.

Cleared the codes waited 10 minutes for the car to go into sleep mode. Took off the JB POS and checked the settings. I realized the JB was set to max? I thought it was supposed to come with it at the 3:00pm setting? Made the change to the setting and started up the car. No check engine light so I thought. Drove the car for ten minutes and shut it off. Turned it back on and the check engine light popped back up.

Uninstalled the JB, cleared the codes and drove the car for ten minutes. Turned the car off and back on without any check engine light. The car also felt way under powered, it got a little better when I dialed the boost down and felt normal (way faster) when I took off the JB plus. My car has a build date of 09/20. I guess my car's ECU does not like this thing or I received a broken JB POS. Either way that thing is not going back onto my car and I will be getting my money back.

If I were a betting person, my wager would be be that your car was not actually asleep when it was installed. Hence the ecu getting all confused and out of sorts. Nothing more than a guess though. I'm interested in the outcome. Tracking info says mine will arrive on Wednesday...

I let the car sit for ten minutes maybe more because I had to walk back into my apartment to grab some tools to take off my strut tower brace to replace the air filter. My key fob was inside my apartment the whole time. My apartment is about 200 yards from my parking space.

Not sure what's going on with your JB+ unit but hopefully BMS provides you with a respond and/or a replacement unit.

I did multiple WOT pulls to see if I could trigger any overboost or drivetrain warnings but everything continues to run smoothly with my Supra and the JB+ with the setting at the 4:30 position (slightly below max boost).

I was able to dig up some JB+ datalogs from BMS using the B58C engine and observing the changes made to boost pressure and whether or not the DME was able to sustain a proper AFR similarly to stock. According to the graphs, it looks like it does (though I'm curious to know if overall EGTs are increased with the JB+).

Very critical step in setting this up. Used the full JB4 unit on a Stinger. One thing to check/verify are the connections to the sensors. If these are not fully seated, incorrect voltage being read by ECU from the sensor signal may throw things completely out of whack and send the ECU into a "tizzy" resulting in the CEL. That is actually a good thing in that the engine police are sensing a problem. There are two connections for the full jb4 so I think it would be similar for the jb+. TMAP and MAP sensor. TMAP would be the one I would check first (check both anyway) since it gathers the boost pressure before heading to intake......

did this same thing when i first connected my jb4 and found that I had pushed one of the pins out on the connector and it did not seat fully in the sensor. result, CEL. Once that was found, re-seated pin correctly, re-connected jb4 (using procedure of waiting for 10mins) and "voila", no CEL and boost came on strong.

Terry @BMS is thorough so give those guys a shot before throwing in the towel. (know that anxious feeling!)

Good luck!!

I tried installing the jb two times. Both times everything plugged in fully. For $hits and giggles I doubled checked the pin connectors on the jb and all were good to go. BMS is sending out a new unit as they believe the one sent out is defective. I’ll give this thing one last try when I receive a new one.

I had this same scenario just happen with my JB+ and I'm currently waiting on an email back from Burger Tuning. Out of curiosity, how did you clear your codes? I removed the device and tried to clear my codes via Bimmerlink and I get a fail to delete the code error so there still active. Car feels slower at WOT as well.

Cleared the code with the car scanner app.
