Took my 2021 3.0 in yesterday 05/31/2021 for this issue. My daily car. Did my first oil change at 1,200 miles. Got this "minimal oil level" notification at around 3,550 miles. Car was at the dealership for about 6 hours before I got call from my service advisor telling me that they have to get in contact with Toyota Corporate about them sending out a tech for repair or possible engine replacement.
What's the build date on your car?

Well, I thought I was in the clear for the oil warning, but today was the day at 4,580 miles. (7,366kms). I went to the dealer so it could be documented. He only added 3/4 of a quart instead of a full one, and the the oil indicator went to full again. I don't think the dipstick is very accurate. Build date 03/20.

Hey Foot, did you do the 1200 mile oil change? I don’t recall if you posted that.

Could this issue be a faulty sensor? Hard to tell without a dipstick if the engine oil is low. Spoke with a former BMW master tech who stated these sensors being faulty is really common.

1200 miles on my current oil, 5W-30 liquimoly. 100% sport mode and driven properly. Hard break-in. Full trackday at Mid-Ohio kicking her ass. Oil at 100%.

I stand by my opinion the 0W-20 is just too thin.
I’m about 1800 miles with the same oil and close to 3k miles on odometer. I’m still showing at max limit with iDrive and within 1mm on my EcuTek oil level reading.

I’m planning to drop the oil at 3K miles and run a Blackstone report. It will tell me if anything is starting to go out internally. I will be using the Liquimoly 5w-30 again, its a solid choice for high performance engines.

Same. I have 2 track days in July, and 2 in August. Then I'll change mine too and do a report.

At 1800 miles not one drop of loss yet, hard break in, 7/20 build date, what number should I be weary of mileage wise? I fear I may not be in the clear yet.
Thanks

Anything over 1500 miles per quart is normal per the manual.

Seems most are seeing the first oil warning around 2500 miles...
Myself included ?...
