lolI personaly can't see why some of us want the Supra to be an unaffordable supercar that competes with 911s and GT-Rs. Are you guys all that rich? I mean I'd much rather see something in the bmw 240i range that is purely sports oriented AND affordable as a 3 year old second hand car for most people..... I wanna own and drive the thing not just fantasise and jerk off about it haha... no??
3.8 is hardly impossible in a RWD car. The 2018 GT with the 10-speed AT runs 3.9. The 2019 Camaro SS with the A10 will likely do 3.9-3.8. They can both be had for well under $40k. BUT... I highly doubt this car will sniff mid-low 4's let alone 3.8, unless it comes it's Mazda Miata light.3.8sec in a RWD car is almost impossible. It will more likely be around 5secs.
I see where they got their design inspiration...Another car Best Car was right about.
Real thing
I don’t think toyota has the balls to build a fast car.. I dare them. Lol It’ll go against everything toyota believes in..FWIW, the current 918 cayman S is sniffing flat 4s to 100kmh, and the A90 is meant to have similar (if not more) power and 100kg less... forum insiders quoted this somewhere in another thread
I wonder what a Cayman weighing 250lbs less with a ZF8 would do?

"The Cayman’s boosted four is more than enough to get 3,190 pounds hustling. Zero to 60 mph happens in 3.6 seconds, and the quarter mile passes in 12 seconds flat at 114.9 mph."
He's talking about the m240i. 340 hp turbo i6 that does 0-60 in ~4.3 seconds. That's no slouch. It comes in around $45k base and is going to directly compete with the Supra in price.lol
Because that [a 240i competitor] isn't a SUPRA! In no universe should a Supra be competing with a 240i.
Just to tidy up some posts I'm referring to:
Snooki as well.SC430?
the weight is definitely quite disappointing if true..I know A70 has suggested otherwise but he has also pointed out the weight has been subject to change...considering that they didn't go for a manual right off the bat for additional weight savings I think it shows their mentality & goals. Happy to be proven wrong by BMW-T but I would be quite surprised if it ends up weighing less than a 370Z. Still, even if turns out heavier, if they aggressively price it out then it could still be a good deal.Automobilemag just put out dimensions for the Z4. Here is how it compares to specs from Bestcar.
