Oh I’m looking forward to that.. I think MKiV values will skyrocket /QUOTE]

More than they already have?!?PW's death already brought them up to 70-80K! Last thing we need is a Supra that costs as much as a ZR1 or AMG GT

Have you seen what happened to the NSX values after Honda butchered the new one? Similar impact will be inevitable within the Supra (toyota made) models. Not the weak BMW shyt with Toyota badges.

Well, actually, NSX values had pretty consistent growth right up until the new NSX came out, and now both NA1 and NA2 values have plateaued. The new NSX certainly have had some sort of impact initially, but as far as year over year % growth in value goes, after the new NSX came out, the original car actually more or less stopped appreciating. For the longest time NSXs were doing 10-15% year over year, but since late 2016 values haven't moved much at all.

The idea that a new car being bad means more demand for the old car is generally just a misguided concept, as the actual demographics of people that are between buying a new depreciating vehicle vs an older appreciating vehicle is very small, as it's really not the same thing. People who had the means to plop down 160k for the new NSX likely just went to McLaren/Lamborghini/Ferrari etc, for another car that might have actually competed with it, rather than buying the car's 20+ year old counterpart. Now, I'm sure there are lost sales from wealthy NSX enthusiasts perhaps, but again, small demographic.

haha funny you say that. I'm looking for a Mkiv. If this car truly flops this will be a 70K car for sure and higher...If you see one clean title, original 6 speed for sale anytime soon please let me know by PM. (Under 55K) SRS!

Nsx values have always been appreciating. Just the rate at which it has been trending is lower than that of the Supra. nonetheless it will continue to appreciate.

Chart for reference ^

The values rise for so many reasons. 1- Marketing, the name Supra & NSX being re-marketed and talked about = more people searching and looking up what the car is, with larger marketing presence and conversation comes the inevitable... HYPE, & HYPE Sells period. . 2- People grow to appreciate what they had, when they realize how good what they had was. This is reminded to them after the new product is introduced.

I've got a close friend with a very clean 1997 Ren Red BPU 6-speed car if you're interested. ~50k miles and very nicely maintained. Getting him to 55k might be a stretch though, I'm sure he wants 60k for that car.

Has it not been stated several times that won't be the case?

Not sure what you are suggesting here, can you explain?

Don't judge, haha but I cant drive a red car. Way too much attention for my style driving.. I need something as close to black as possible would consider just about any other color. Lmk if you see anything else tho, thanks man!

I`m pretty sure, stock for stock, the "weak shyt MkV" will beat the crap out of the MkIV, straight line, cornering, laptime, or any other meassure of performance other than jdm tyteness and f&furiousness.

BTW, have you seen the B58 engine design? Thanks to bean counters (closed deck block shared with diesel engines, plus forged crankshaft, forged pistons, forged rods) it looks ninja-overkill. It may just handle 2JZ power levels.

Now now, you better watch out or you might start implying that Toyota, the largest car manufacturer on the planet, actually did some level of investigative research before moving into a large-scale partnership with another large automobile manufacturer, despite obvious implicit hurdles that would cost them considerable time and money.

Nahhhhh, Toyota is lameeee, the GT86 suxxx. Just a Corolla made by Subaru. MKV Supra should have been a Hellcat competitor because I love disregarding Katayama-San's vision and direction because I saw a video of a Supra with 14,000hp and it made pop-pop noises out it's peculiarly angled exhaust pipe.
