Man....its like a virus, spreading like crazy, maybe we should have Guff and admins put some controls in place to stop making the info here public?
Why? I’d rather media sites go through this forum for info than having sites like jalopnik come up with complete BS info.

What we (this forum) just did was TROLL every news or auto editors on non-factual evidence. Those that reported without crediting this forum or users have no credibility.

It is just plagiarism

It's okay, let the news be heard, be it fake or true. Basically, at this price, no one is happy about it and having more sources spreading this information of the high price and unhappiness will make sure Toyota takes notice.
Exactly right. I figure its more an exercise in garnering public opinion than anything at this point. Clearly, there was a very strong response across the board and I think that this information is more useful to Toyota than us just chit-chatting with nothing to really talk about.

As far as how the media love to get their info from here; I've been doing this forum nonsense for long enough to realize the difference between "journalism" and what we do on forums. We are driven by our own interests, passions, etc to seek out this information, whether it be us with FT86Club or SupraMKV, or even the guys over at the BMW forums who were pulling internal records to get Z4/Supra info over a year ago. Then we use discussion to make valuable insight and weed out bullshit.

"Journalists" on the other hand just take the stuff we find and slap it onto an ad-riddled abortion of a webpage, and call it a day. But really, we appreciate the hyperlinks.

wishful thinking - it's a leak to determine the US reaction to a single A90 variant, all the trims and options - more luxo than performance.

i feel like we've made our voices heard.

Toyota - A90 is a sports car. more power, less mass, option all the knick knacks.

if i want luxury performance, the M3 and C63 do that.

I disagree. A trusted member of this forum who has communications with certain people chose to share that info with us. He could have kept the info private. I will make the assumption that Guff knows there are a lot of MKV members that are chomping at the bit for information and actually starting to get impatient..well that's me anyways. I'm glad he chose to share with us, even if it is bad news.

Also provide live feedback to Toyota staff members that no matter where this is posted, it's not a good look and potentially tell Toyota USA to back off on the crazy safety fetures and not price it as such. Just price this thing right at the base cayman while fully loaded would sway people far from the luxury brands and improve the brand's image.

It also shows we are willing to purchase a car if the specs and price is right

Why are people freaking out about 335HP? It's still higher than the MKIV

Besides, it's not like people will keep it stock

Cause A70 mentioned it 350 and possibly kicking 400 more to make highway monsters happy. If they tune it to be 425 at 55k at 3100 lbs, jesus fucking christ this thing would be backordered.

Think about modified Supra to 600 PS, weight should remain below 1400 kg, that is supercar territory!!! Should even destroy a 911 Turbo S (a heavy overpriced pig, 200K for a Porsche is insane).

This whole topic of bad news and lack of actual facts, well extremely frustrating, is somewhat interesting from the point of view what Toyota is doing or not doing...

What I mean is, because to-date that have not come out with anything to challenge the false statements flying around, is that the right approach? Are they losing sales because potential buyers are leaving and buying other cars based on incorrect information? As Modal170 said, should they address this now and while not giving away all the facts, at least send out some positive message?
It could be the right approach, IF, many potential customers have moved on, in there future the Supra will still be competitive and desirable, it could keep sales longer, rather than drop off like usually for sports cars. I hope Toyota keep it competitive by updating it like the GT-R. The GT86 has never been competitive, it really has no competitor, so no point in updating it. The Supra on the other hand will probably need updates. New Cayman is out in less than 3 years, I guess it will be lighter, more powerful, lack manual transmission. BMW will drop manual transmission on everything with more than 4 cylinders. Porsche 718 sells mostly PDK, so makes sense to drop manual. Porsche's next GT3 goes turbo, will be 'fun' to see GT3 enthusiasts complain, probably more than Supra enthusiasts.

As for other competitors, I expect nothing from Nissan/Infiniti/Mercedes or Mazda to come out, nor from Audi. Maserati Alfieri will likely be much more expensive and heavier.

Perhaps this is a strategy to see who is still geniunely interested in the MKV?

Saw this on reddit. Can someone tell me I am not crazy and that this is a lie?

"Regardless of weight the handling characteristic will be similar to the Mustang, the engine and drivetrain configuration really has a huge impact to the handling characteristic.

Quality is similar to other 30k priced cars aka mustang and power puts it in Mustang territory, again it doesn't offer anything above the Mustang.

The Cayman is simply a more palatable version of the 911 and has a unique market, the car simply offers both quality and an experience that this car will not offer.

This is essentially a less powerful, inferior RCF at RCF pricing

Nah, clearly a Mustang fan that aspires to get a Porsche.

So far this is the Best attempt to get news about the Supra viral and refresh peoples mindsets about it. Somebody is really having a blast "leaking" The Z4 specs as the supra's; instantly igniting auto websites.

So the Supra is more expensive than the Z4? Yeah right.

The convertible Z4 40i weighs 3384lbs and the hardtop supra weighs only 80lbs less? That's almost too bad to be true. The E93 was around 400lbs heavier than the E92, and that's the SAME CAR, not something sharing some parts with. So around 3000 is the ballpark...hmmm where was this confirmed twice before?

Somebody wanted to hide the manual fiasco with a "underpromise and overdeliver" attempt that's is so far on fire LoL
