Looking for dealer options that can help get an order placed. I've spoke with a few dealers in Chicago and Minneapolis but they have said they can only keep a look out on what allocations are coming in and if they match the options we're looking for.

Are only certain dealers able to place actual orders and is it just a matter of asking around? I really don't mind traveling anywhere in the US.

Looking to close the deal this spring so it's ideal if I have to wait a few months for the car to come in.

Appreciate the help.

FYI looking at a 2022 3.0 premium in white with red interior.

There’s a dealer in Raleigh North Carolina with a 2022 white CF edition with red interior. I’m not sure how much they’re asking but it’s Fred Anderson Toyota.

Check Cars.com and Autotrader.com. From what I’ve beeb reading on here, the white with red is rarer than hen’s teeth.

I read other car sales forums frequently and have learned that Toyota doesn't do dealer orders. Toyota manufacturing only does allocations based on lottery for the Supra. So what you've experienced so far is exactly accurate.

You will have to put in the leg work to search every dealer and be willing to travel. I believe other forum members have mentioned that in their search red interior on 2.0/3.0/3.0 Premium trims it is basically impossible to find and that we're not even sure if they're making them.

As mentioned it's best if you keep an eye on the above listed websites.

Alright that tracks with what I've seen then. The local dealer was also scratching their head as they hadn't find any cars nationwide with that combo.

Ended up putting down a small refundable deposit down on an order which he says is the most they can do. The system will just reserve the first available match when it starts the factory build. Realistically they said 3-6 months but were looking into the color combo.

I'm in the market for a white on black 3.0 premium and what Traxion said is 100% correct.

Some dealers might pretend to be placing an order for you but in reality they are just waiting for the next cars to be sent their way. And hoping one of those cars matches the specs you want.

It's a bad time to be buying a new Supra right now. Little to no inventory and lots of dealer asking for high markups. I extended my search nationwide and still no luck. Some dealers will charge extra if you are out of their service areas or straight up not sell out of state. They want to keep the cars local to service them, get them back later on trade-ins and what not.

I've also noticed some dealers would post brand new listings "car in transit" or "incoming" but in reality there is no car or it is already long gone. They're after a deposit to pretend to place an order or sell you something else.

+1. The only way to "order" from Toyota is through the employee benefit program, which is actually a direct factory order, but it's placed through Toyota itself and not a dealership. Otherwise, you are just pulling one from the manufacturing stream that's already allocated but not sold. Dealerships also can "trade" allocations with each other to get a customer what they want at their dealership if they are out of allocations in exchange for transferring some incoming slots to another. With the Supra, that's really not happening right now, so you basically are just going to have to call around a lot and prepare to get shot down.

Before I placed my factory order I shopped around at what was in stock since I was considering paying more not to wait, and in the Bay Area >90% of the dealerships I called with "incoming" Supras said they had none incoming and would let me place a deposit but it was clear they just did that to keep me on the phone. Stock situation on 2022 3.0s was pretty bleak in June/July when I eventually gave up and strapped in for a long wait on the order (although mine is finally stateside and on the way to a dealership, only took 6 months :p)

4 years at my Toyota store and the info ITT is 100% correct. I've got 5 inbound Supras currently and 4 of them are already spoken for. The only one we've got left out of this allocation is a Tungsten 3.0 prem with black interior.

Daily in Minnesota snow too? Even stock this car is pretty low and I would not suggest daily driving it.

I haven't seen any red interior on Cargurus or autotrader so far. Looks like they bring just a few for USA

Did you have to go through an employee to put a factory order in then? 6 months is nothing, and I'd rather just do that.

I have the tesla for if I really want to go out in an active snow fall. 95% of the time the city has the road clear within a few hours. I don't usually ever have to be somewhere that bad that I need to risk damaging my cars.
