How many of you have front license plate screw holes and how do we stop them from doing this?

Find a body shop and get a quote for the work. It will probably be cheaper than a new bumper. Either way, you’re going to have to worry about how well they paint match it.

How to stop it from happening…
I asked the dealer nicely when I ordered the car not to install the license plate bracket. Asked again when they received the car to remind them. At the time of delivery, they made me sign a document stating that they are not liable for me getting a ticket w/o front plate.

Well in my case, the plate holder was already installed, I didn’t notice the holes until I pulled the holder off.

Fortunately I was able to get to the dealer before they installed the front plate on my Supra. On other vehicles I purchased some hole plugs from Lowes/Home Depot used matching touch up paint.

Yeah thats tough. I had a car years ago that had some bumper damage and this bumper repair guy came and made it look completely like new! It's was great work. Maybe try to find a very high quality bumper repair guy or business.

That's kind of silly. No dealership would ever be held liable for a "no front plate" ticket.

That said, I haven't had a front plate on any of my cars for many, many years now. And I live in a state that requires front plates. The cops don't seem to care though, as they never bother me at all because of my missing front plate.

See if they're doing this anyway then what's the point of pulling ppl over for not having a front plate but then again some LE's are just plain aholes. Luckily my wife's supra didn't come with holes even tho it we bought it used.

Yeah, a lot of people with Tesla's here in LA are rocking the sticker plate.

For the most part most cops are not going to care if you don't have a front plate.

You're most likely going to get a ticket for it if you get a parking ticket. But you can just leave the plate on the dash if you're worried about it.

Ive been pulled over twice for no front plates. Once in Texas, once in SoCal. I paid the fine in Texas, i zip tied the plate to the front of my FRS in Cali and they passed the fixit ticket. Id never run one. Luckily in NV we dont have to. but i do think front plates are dumb. It also seems like higher crime rate states have front plate laws, i know people have been caught do to a front plate, but we know the police officer didnt read that front plate when it went by lol

I would refuse delivery and secure another Supra without holes.

If you repair the holes and repaint the bumper the rock chips will be endless. The baked factory paint doesn't hold up well... Image a respray. No thanks.

I got pulled over a few times with my sti for not having a front license plate and because of that I have chp asking me to open my hood and most of them don't know what they are looking at. I got away with some just by being polite and also working in the medical field.

Had the same issue with my prior 4 series. Dealer drilled holes into the bumper. Took mine to a body shop and they filled it and repainted the bumper. You can get color matched plugs but I don’t like the look of them.

I asked the dealer I got my Supra from to not mount the front plate bracket and they followed through.

Been driving without a front plate for over 2 decades now here in So Cal/Orange County. The only time I got a no plate ticket was when I was caught going 75 in a 65 and the CHP officer was kind of cool and let me off with a no front Plate ticket.
