Life long Bimmer Boy that has recently come out (as a supra boy)! Glad to have made it.

Just wanted to post this as an FYI as I have not found any forums discussing this. My 2021 Supra has a build date of 6/20 and DME date 20-03-10 (March 10,2020). It was on the line of questionable but the BENCH UNLOCK was successful. HOWEVER, once tuned to stage 1 OTS map, I did not have any of the steering wheel controls or the ability to log.

I do not believe BM3 has this posted anywhere, but, after a few grueling days of back and forth with them, I was finally informed that my DME software version is not compatible with customROM "yet". Just wanted to put this out there as a quick answer for anyone that may run into a similar issue to avoid the back and forth emails to extract an answer from PTF.

Shouldn't be on the line. The ECU date in question is post 06/2020. You were very fine. Bench unlock, Ecutek, and go fast.

yes this is correct. For some reason, not sure why as this is a first, the newer update and newer cars have a romthat did away with the Steering wheel controls for secondary functions. This is across the board, not a BM3, Ecutek or MHD thing. Same thing for ALL.

There's several roms for 21, that's the oldest I'm aware of.

Not sure what ROMS are compatible with customROM, do they even support anything for 21?

If you find out that what rom ID they support we can get your ECU on that version for you.

You can also switch to EcuTek, RaceRom is supported on ALL ROMS.

I will ping them to inquire about the ROM IDs that are supported. Are there any concerns with downgrading to an older ROM version? Also, is this an OBD or bench process?

If I didn't already have my BM3 license from my M2 I probably would have gone with ECUtek.

Thank you!

From PTF: "It’s the one version before the one you have." :banghead:

I talked to BM3 recently about this and they’re adding it soon for latest ROM. I love BM3, never looked back after trying others and going back to it.
