hmm if the 86 is any indication to the MKV, Japan will get many trims possibly a different engine option too (Rumored 4 and 6 cylinder) and the mystery GR. Europe will probably get the GR and some variants too. And Ofcourse the Aussies and Africans will also get something but unknown number of trims. Lastly, US will get I dunno one or two, but US TMS is in charge of that so dunno how they're going to do it. It could be a mix or something else.
For sure they will get a lot of trim levels in Japan. Engine options, I guess they’ll have the 2.0-liter I4, 3.0-liter I6, and a hybrid. Possibly a GRMN version too.

Anyone that truly believes that BMW will allow Toyota to have the better version of the same car is going to be extremely disappointed. The A90 will always be a step behind. That why the only option Toyota has is to work it into their marketing as a more pure sports car (none convert

I only deal with facts. Show me proof or anything from Toyota stating any of that as fact.

The Z4 and A90 have been tested for the same exact amount of time.
Slow down. You are contradicting your self. You cant ask for facts when you have not provided one. what fact do you have to back up the statement in your first paragraph?

It's funny that on Bimmerforums, some people want a a real G29 Z4 Coupe...not a Toyota Supra.

Looks like the MKV Supra will be the misundrestood child.

I've owned 3 MKIV and a multitude of other JDMs. Once I see and test drive the MKV, if I don't like it...I'll just buy another MKIV and keep it forever

Yes.. it would be great if they just didn’t call this thing a Supra.

Why not? So because the only known fact that the MKV was co-developped with BMW, it doesn't deserve the name?
Either you get over it or completly forget about the MKV if this is the case...
Why even bother posting in MKV forums then?

Until now, nobody has seen nor driven the MKV...

What then should they call the car if not Supra?

Supra sounds amazing since it lives up to expectation like with I6 and RWD. For sure there are some modifications like it will now be a 2-seater instead of a 2+2, and partnering with BMW; but the winning formulas are still there.

I guess we could call the car the Toyota GT1 or TS1

Toyota, Supra, 1

The first gen of a car inspired by the supra just like the gt86 was inspired by the corolla ae86 and vintage lightweight rwd.

People would look at it in a new light and accept it.

I don't mind that it is called a supra personally but people are downright fucking nuts by complaining about a car not living to the heritage of yesteryear. When said yesteryear, the car wasn't even purchased at all for a huge loss and are probably the same people who wouldn't buy it today. I am not meaning us, but the marketplace who are most vocal are also the most fickle.

Eh, hope history don't repeat itself.

Spoiler: It will

Fact? When is now? I can think of a few that have seen and been in the MKV during it's time as a mule/proto, not just here recently; that post here or are part of the MKIV community.

Some of you guys actually need to read these threads, before just having diarrhea of the mind/fingers, just to post something. We can all read, if we have something that is beneficial, we post it, but some of these comments, FFS.

I was skeptical about the new Supra, but people that have some actual real world experience or know people in the know, have made me gather my thoughts. My only gripe is the manual, but that hasn't been killed off, so there's some hope.

Why bother posting here? Cause they used the name ‘Supra’ ...

BMW made Supra = Mercedes made GTR

I wonder if it will say BMW on the A90’s engine anywhere. There is a very good chance it will.
