Stock top hats. Haven’t found the need to go aftermarket yet. I currently have the dampening set to 18 (20 being the softest) all around and the ride is awesome.

So update on the Swift spring install on the Ohlins. They fixed the issue and ride much much better than the original Ohlin springs. I had dampening set at 10 all around on the Ohlins and 10 on the Swifts and its much more compliant in cornering (more direct), and better on the microbumps, humps, dips, etc in the Bay Area (notoriously shitty).

The Swift springs were installed and with the Ohlin spec preload of 190 it lowered about 5mm from before, then the preload was set at 210 and completely fixed the issue with ride height. With the helper springs up front the car has preload fully even when raised. The rear actually needs a pair of helper springs because there is about 20mm of no preload if the car is raised in the air, since the new Swift rear spring is 180mm instead of the Ohlin 200mm. Ordered this, but not much of a concern just dont jack the car up without caution until you install.

So if you install aftermarket camber plates up front you need to install shorter springs, with helpers front and rear, you should need the following:

Front Springs:
Z65-152-110
ID: 65mm (2.56")
Length: 152mm (6") × 2

Rear Springs:
Z65-178-180
ID: 65mm (2.56")
Length: 178mm (7") × 2

Helper Springs:
H65-135-0008
Swift Helper Springs - Flat Wire 65mm (2.56") ID × 4

Adjust the preload to 210 and you will have the following ride height in the photos below. The rear needs to be raised slightly due to the shorter spring but that will be solved in my alignment next week. Otherwise I definitely recommend anyone with the Ohlins to swap out the original springs for these for better ride height and a much better ride.

Thanks @krumpir for the part numbers for the swift springs.

I just ran into this today on my Ohlins install. This is a problem specific to Ohlins + Vorshlags, and I wanted y'all to be aware. Ohlins gives you two sets of adjustments for the spring preload on the front. With the stock top hats, they want 2mm of preload, BUT want the pre-load collar no more than 100mm or 3.93" away from the lower spring adjuster. With 2mm of preload, the ride height was too high up front and the preload adjuster was more than 100mm away (nearly 5")

Spoke to Vorshlag, thinking they sent me the wrong top hats or something was whacky with my plates, but it turns out that's expected and with the Vorshlags, you will not get preload on the spring. At full droop, you'll have 1" or so of negative preload (meaning the springs are free to flop around at full droop.). LIKELY this isn't an issue unless you jack up the car a lot and put it down with the springs all akimbo (kind of hard to do) or you like to dukes of hazard style catch air over big jumps (also not recommended.). There is enough travel to where this is fine.

But, I hate the idea of the springs being loose so I did go ahead and order the springs, so an additional $600 in springs and $1100 in install, alignment and corner balancing, and I'll have this solved properly with the swift springs. Thanks again for sharing, and heads up to anyone installing Ohlins and Vorshlags - they will work out of the box, but the front springs are loose at full droop at a proper ride height and you can either switch to different springs or live with it or run 4X4 style higher than stock!

Thanks to Trackspec for doing the work and I hope this helps if you install this combo.

I've seen the Millway plates but they completely disappeared their Supra section except for the subframe bushings. I ran their bits on my M2C and they were of high quality.
The owner often edits the website but you can reach out directly to their email and they should be able to get it orderable (he was making the Supra plates for a year, off the website, before he listed it prior). I believe the G20 BMW plates on the store are very similar if not identical in design, so fairly certain he still makes them for the Supra.

This is why I am glad I got the Verus top hats to work. Got zero issues with them and spring droop. If anyone else is interested in going the same route, I have already loaded Verus up with all the info they need to be able to make them work with the Ohlins. I would contact Eric over there and see what he says.

I'm interested to hear what their solution is. Do you have pics? does the spring stay seated at full droop? I wouldn't have cared if I'd known to order the swift springs ahead of time, I was more annoyed that I paid for the install only to have to do it half way and then redo it when the Swift springs ship, which means a round trip to the shop...

All I had to do was make a new misalignment spacer for the hat. That was it. Super easy and took a few min in the lathe. I gave them all the dimensions so they should be able clone what I did.

Some pictures...

Thanks again to @krumpir for the swift springs research, I ended up getting the same ones. And, I agree, the Swift springs DO ride better despite being stiffer than the OEM Ohlins springs.

Great, so what you are saying is that I need to tear my car apart again so I can copy you guys....

LOL - honestly, it's a small improvement. I installed more SPL parts so I had the suspension apart anyway. If you are ok with the ride height, I think it's a minor thing, but I am really happy with the suspension. It's firmer but still feels very OEM even with all the SPL bits.

I noticed a pretty stark difference, what dampening do you have the Ohlins set at for road use?

@krumpir and @SupraKit

What city are you guys in? If you are close enough, wondering if I can go for a ride in one of your cars before I pull the trigger on the Swifts.
