Rear brake pads, 3.0 base

I can not find a single vendor selling performance brake pads for a Supra base. I prefer Raybestos, G-Loc, Carbotech, and CL, in that order.
I'd consider Hawk as a last resort.
This is for HPDE. I know companies are slow to produce pads for newer platforms...

Anyone know of a reliable vendor that would know the difference between Premium and Base pads?

I wanted a base 3.0 over the Premium and honestly didn’t know there was a difference in the caliper size ? I hate all the extra electronic gizmos and that damn extra cruise/parking assist package. But all the cars came with it. Anyways… is it really expensive to switch to the 3.0 premium brake caliper size? I’m finding tons of great pad options for this premium Supra.

side note: my Hawk DTC 60/30s are still kicking. If they’re available for ya, I can vouch I’d definitely buy them again!

Both the rotors and calipers are different. I personally would upgrade to them if I had a base. You can find them used for not a ton of money.

Just the rears. The fronts are identical, apart from the caliper paint. With the front bias, I feel like the money you'd spend on replacing the rears would be better spent elsewhere.

You are correct about the bias. Fronts do a good amount of the work, but if I had a base, I would upgrade the rears purely for more brake pad selection.

Here is some data from my Supra on track around front/rear brake bias:

brake = % I am mashing the pedal
brakef = front brake line pressure
braker = rear brake line pressure

At least you found rear pads. Every vendor I talk to says they can't find different part numbers. I had a set of DTC60s sent to me and now I'm stuck with the rears unless the vendor will let me return/exchange. So... my search continues. I KNOW the pad is different, I just can't find anyone that can find the pads.
I was looking to swap to premium rears to make pad selection easier also. I'm assuming the base and premium bias is the same so it won't cause a problem. Used OEM rear rotors (2pc) look to be $200ish and each caliper is about $250 each. So I guess $750-800 to replace all. Assuming they bolt right up. That's a lot of money to make pad shopping easier. LOL

Yes they bolt right up.

If it helps, you can expand your search to M240i/M340i/M440i brakes as their standard "M-Sport" brakes are exactly the same as the Supra Premium.

Also, the upgraded "M-Motorsport" option has the same rear calipers/rotors as the Supra Premium as well.

If it helps to expand your brake pad search for base pads. I believe the 330i/430i (non m-sport) share the 330mm rear rotors of the Supra Base

This is true; I had to shop around a while and work with top end motorsports to make sure I got the right set. Apparently, the rear set is the same size as the 2.0. It probably would've been easier to source a fresh set of rear rotors and calipers and just gotten a 3.0 premium set.

It's a great idea, but as mentioned above it's about $800, going by eBay prices. I'm going to keep shopping to hopefully find something a bit cheaper.

If it wasn’t for this BMW computer and all its sensors, my old race shop and I played around with bias on my fully race S2K and it was actually fun. It was always heavily split forward but we definitely played around with it. So again, if it wouldn’t cause the computer to freak out, I wouldn’t worry too much about the factory inherent bias between and premium and base. And definitely like @razorlab said, for ease of shopping and long term consumable use, I’d get the premium calipers.
