Tuning a car does not affect reliability unless
1. It's a crappy tune
2. The car is tuned within an inch of it's life.
If you do either, that's on you ?

Tunes make cars more responsive and consistent first, possibly more power, second.
Unless you live somewhere where it's illegal (CA), a tune is always a good idea.
You can also get a Pro Tune, if you come from driving a Subaru.

My wife has a catless downpipe mated to a 4in single exit and her ex-boyfriend's tune for sure worked better than my OTS. She learned a valuable lesson about settling. Don't make the same mistake she did, y'all. Make the tune match the hardware.

I've been meaning to put together a document with lists for a while, but haven't really had time or energy. As far as I got.

(side note: I know it’s only a piggyback tune, but really happy with my JB4, Jesse custom tune, and ability to turn it off/on)

So I have another thread about running Sp1R exhaust and AA downpipes there’s some cool videos and pictures from other Supra owners if you want to go check that one out. But now we are talking about tunes. I am wanting to run bm3 stage 2 but don’t really know the reliability. I daily my car around 80-100 miles a day so I don’t want crazy hp to break things just enough to have fun and do some highway pulls. Anybody got any recommendations on what tuning platform or custom tuners I can reach out to? Also what stage are you running, how many miles have you put on with the tune, and have you had any problems?
I have been custom tuned for 19.5K out of my 20K miles on the car. Last 8-10K on a pure850 and I drive about 60 miles a day currently... you will be perfectly fine. Go with reputable tuner. I am tuned by Justin from Twisted tuning on MHD

If you're just running a DP then the MHD OTS tunes are good.
I've been running the e30 tune for a year including a lot of track work.

I've tried getting a remote custom tune 4 times now (with MHD and BM3 across multiple BMWs and the Supra) and the experience was always frustrating and the tune usually ran worse than the OTS ones.
