She sounds great! Im not opposed to the MKVs current note, sounds like a proper I6. Ive never been a fan of the bolton 335i exhaust, they always came off kinda odd and didnt really give that great I6 sound, but to be fair i wasnt a fan of my own supras exhaust until that 2nd turbo spooled either.

you think someone will have the balls to LT swap the MKV?

Having done a similar swap (500hp 1uz + drysump + motec + jzx110 r154) into a GT86; keeping is usable & Street legal; all I’ll say is to be aware of that being an exercise that will cost more than the supra itself. Let alone not having it to use in the mean time.

With that said, (and hopefully my wife doesn’t read this) I do have a new in box v161 in storage that I was going to use to 6MT my ISF. A 2URGSE + V161 in this new supra body would be a tasty wee beast.

I do have a habit of piecing together cars Toyota should’ve built.
4age into kp61.
Beams into ae86
1uz into Altezza
1uz into GT86

I’d probably sooner do a built 1UZ over a 2UR.

But no I want to keep it stock!! A new supra plus all that work is GT3RS money.

Snagged this from one of the Madrid videos. Interesting...

I think you'll find that it does indeed have the same redline as the BMW, 6500 with cutoff at 7000. More evidence for identical motors, as well as being in-line with other B58 equipped models. Sucks, but I think we are stuck with the updated B58 and not much more.

So no iron block.. none of that strong stuff that were spoken about before came to reality? Just a B58 with some Toyota tweaks to make it reliable?

I'm just guessing, I have no solid information. This is just based off the photos of the engine bay, and now the same redline, which I guess isn't too much to go off of, but still. I was really banking on at least an apparent cylinder head difference, but so far I haven't found it.

I haven't heard much chatter on the Toyota side in a long while, so I really don't have much more than you guys to go off of at this point. Just need to keep waiting I guess.

Something is not adding up. A70 did note the iron block could come out as a later model but it is happening.

My only salvation is Toyota gave everyone a mid trim I6, and not the iron block. For all we know, Guff could pop the hood and take quick photos and leak the surprise.

But now is where we dial back the expectations to not be disappointed for now

Thing Is, from the pics, we know the head is different in the Z4 and A90 from the updated B58 in the X5 M40i thing... (around the exhaust ports)

Who really, who knows.

Knowing Toyota's history, do you guys really think that Toyota would put in the money and effort to develop an Iron Block and sell it as a limited edition? Doesn't sound like they'll make money off it and Toyota mostly cares about that.

Another problem is the price, if the B58 is supposed $65k, the GR spec is probably gonna be R35 money and the target buyer would be more inclined towards a TT-RS or R35.

Fair enough.. but it’s looking more and more like a BMW with Toyota clothing and suspension tuning more than anything else.

A70 mentioned that his sources stated that the Goodwood prototype housed the new iron block motor. I’m assuming that the Z4 will be utilizing that same motor as well? I always thought that was the assumption. Unless you guys saw something indicating no iron block?

I am curious to which trim this is in since the 4 cylinder B48 has a similar redline.

I think it is also possible to note that the higher trim ( the one seen with bigger brakes) could have a higher redline as part of a "performance" package.

But those are just assumptions and theoretical scenarios until we hear back on what trims were tested
