Totally personal preference. I’m running catless but have the burbles tuned out which IMO are much more annoying. The car sounds amazing in WOT and DOSENT sound like a civic. The smell is not as bad as some make you think, I’m a world of EV’s I love the smell seeping into the EV drivers noses ?

I have a super annoying CEL after installing the ds-1.

12BB01 - oxygen sensor after catalytic converter, from lean to rich: delayed response.

I've tried aftermarket and stock downpipe tuned, and I changed the O2 sensor. Code persists. Any clue what could be causing this?

Did the CG DS1 cause the CEL or were you getting it with the stock DP as well? I thought for the most part the CGs won't throw a CEL?

Never had it on the stock. Got it almost immediately when I put the downpipe on even after getting a new O2 sensor.

That's why it's important to get a downpipe with a no-check engine light guarantee.

Just put a 90 degree O2 sensor spacer on it if there's enough room for it. Had a CEL after I did catted DP on my GTI and the spacer made it go away forever. Still hasn't come back in 5+ years.

That's pretty much how some of these "No-CEL" guarantee brands achieve it (if they aren't running higher cell cats).

The O2 sensor after the cat doesn't do anything at all besides check cat efficiency, so you aren't screwing with AFR readings.

I went with the Kenji 200 Cell DP no cel and no tune which is nice! The smell is only obvious at cold start up, after that I don't notice it at all.

The code I'm getting isn't a cat efficiency code, which is further evidenced by the fact I still have the code on a test pipe tune.

According to MHD, using a spacer is dangerous and shouldn't be done. Apparently they use the downstream O2 sensor in their tuning strategy

How is it dangerous?

Not dangerous at all, unless installed wrongly, installed in the front oxygen sensor, that would be a mistake, pay attention to the installation, the rear oxygen sensor is safe
