While doing HPDE, time attack, etc. is a Verus heat shield going to make any difference once everything under the hood is all warmed up or does it heat soak along with everything else?
I have my favorite coating I can add to the turbo-facing side.
..... But I only want to do all this if it's going to help.

I seriously doubt it will help at all. I only got mine because I think it looks kinda cool and I traded Phillip my factory DP for a bunch of Verus stuff.

Can confirm it didn’t do anything for my 6 port running a pure 850. Intake temps were always 25-30 degrees above ambient

Not a Corvette.

You need to log your pre-intercooler intake temps, not your post-intercooler temps. Honestly though, with the OEM box, it shouldn't make any difference as the OEM box draws air from outside the engine bay.

This…got it for the coolness factor.

For improved heat soak cooling you need to upgrade the intake manifold.

I wonder if the combination of the shield and the hood vent gets you the results one is looking for since I have both.

hi, i can attest that the heat shield is effective, but perhaps the circumstance was unique. i used to have the AWE CF hot air intake. when i installed the heat shield, that same day i noticed a better overall throttle response.

does it work?
yes
will it work for you?
idk :)

edit: obviously this is no measurement and i guess relative to the "butt dyno" term, but we are all familiar with the sensations of heat soak and lack thereof

Verus is generally pretty good about backing up their products with testing and showing actual data and according to them it does help, in the real world how much who knows, it is going to be like having a better manifold or using meth for cooling, but one thing it won't do is hurt, plus it looks nice and if any of you have ever driven your cars hard you know how much heat accumulates in that area especially if you are NOT catless ( my catless 2020 never generated as much heat in that area) and with my open box hks I need all the help I can get from avoiding heat soak so its a thumbs up from me.

No data but i compete in SCCA TT and it seemed to give me maybe one more hot lap before heat soak in the summer. It DEF is not a cure
One extra hot lap is all I need.

I am on the OEM downpipe, so yes. My catalytic converter makes crazy heat down there. All the more reason I'm thinking it probably heat soaks everything to the point where it's not doing a lot of good anyway. Particularly with the stock air box.
